Essie Retro Revival Collection 2017

I remember last year, when I got my hands on the first Essie Retro Revival Collection and consequently fell in love with the colours (you can read that here). The collection consisted of 6 shades which have been discontinued over the past 35 years, but due to demand, Essie decided to bring them back for a limited time. The concept went down really well, so well in fact that they have just launched the Essie Retro Revival Collection 2017, again for a limited time only. I was so excited to see what they bought back to life this time round, as last I found one of my favourite shades last time.

The collection again contains 6 gorgeous colours, in the following shades:

bold beauty: deep red dahlia
prima bella: a hypnotic pink
chastity: a beautiful milky barbie pink
flawess: a cherry blossom pink
sweet tart: a my nail but better nude
pure chiffon: a peach toned nude

The shades I fell in love with are Bold Beauty and Chastity. They feel like polar opposites to each other, one a deep red which alludes to mystery and a sense of maturity and the other a vivid pink, hinting at an inner princess who is yet to grow up. I love them both, together and separately.

Chastity

This is a beautiful blue toned milky pink, which is vivid and cotton candy like. It has definite bubblegum and barbie vibes which I am absolutely loving. The formula is amazing, it goes on smoothly without any streaks and 2 coats are enough for complete opacity. The formula also dries really quickly which is ideal. With tanned hands, pinks especially lighter pinks are a little hard to get away with but this looks amazing on tanned skin. I suspect this will suit a variety of skin tones. You can pick it up here for £7.99.

Bold Beauty

Bold Beauty is a deep red shade, from the bottle I thought it may apply a little brown but actually it is a true burgundy shade, which red coming through quite strongly. It reminds me a lot of my birth stone, garnet. It feels classy on the nails, and a definite go to when you want to go for the classic chic look. Again it suits my tanned complexion really well, and I am sure it will also suit fairer skin tones just as well. The formula again goes on smoothly, and is opaque after two coats. One thing I will say is that the colour appears darker in the bottle than on the nails. So you may need extra coats to achieve the bottle colour. You can pick it up here for £7.99.

Note: Boots are currently running a deal here you buy one nail polish and get one half price. Find the deal here.

The Essie Retro Revival Collection 2017 is only available for a limited time, two weeks to be exact! It stops being available to buy on March 14th, so if there are any shades that catch your attention, then be quick! I would highly highly recommend Chastity, I think it is such a beautiful Spring/Summer shade and I definitely will be getting lots of use out of it. I hope you liked this quick overview of the Essie Retro Revival collection, let me know if you’re a fan of any of the shades.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette

I need to compose myself before I write this post as I am so excited about the launch of the Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette. Deep breaths necessary. I feel like already, this is going to be my palette of 2016 and I haven’t get even seen the palette in real life, but when you know, you know right? Too Faced are launching a limited edition Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette at the end of April – beginning of May in the UK and I had to make you guys aware before they fly off the shelves. This warm toned palette seems right up my street and you can guarantee I’ll be picking one up as soon as it becomes available.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette

Too Faced say ‘be sweet as a peach with these fresh-picked shades infused with the juicy scent and antioxidant- rich essence of peach. Create endless looks with 18 shades of peachy pinks, corals, bronzes, and pops of purples that will have you looking summer-fresh year-round.’

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette

This palette is definitely spring, summer AND autumn appropriate, it has 18 gorgeous shades inspired by the fruit peach which in turn inspired the name of the palette. This palette also has a peachy scent to it, and although this doesn’t really matter to me, it is a nice gimmick to have. The palette is a mixture of matte shades and shimmery shades, I always favour palettes that have a lot of matte shades hence why I am so excited to know more about this palette.

This palette will be launching in Debenhams around the end of April, for £39. It’s not the cheapest palette but it does have 18 shades for us to play with, so I am not complaining too much. Remember it is limited edition, so once you see it, if you want it I’d buy it there and then.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette swatches

I always turn to Temptalia for swatches and close ups of new releases, so please check out her post if you’d like to know more about the palette. I’m really excited to pick this up (if you haven’t gathered that yet) and I will definitely create looks and do swatches/review once the palette is mine. Speak soon, Tanzina x

Urban Decay Summer 2016 Collection

It’s not often that I share a collection or launch with you guys before I have the product in hands but the Urban Decay Summer 2016 collection was too pretty to not share straight away. As you know, I have a love affair with the Urban Decay brand, I use their products every single day (primer potion I am looking at you), and when I saw their latest collection I knew they were onto a winner.

Urban Decay Summer 2016 Collection

The latest collection consists of 2 finely milled Beached Bronzers, 3 stunning Aferglow Highlighters, 2 summer ready 24/7 Eye Pencils and a gorgeous line of Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector.

Sin Afterglow 8 Hour Powder Highlighter

Sin Afterglow 8 Hour Powder Highlighter

I want to share with you the few key products in the Urban Decay Summer 2016 collection that really grabbed my attention. Ah, I don’t even know where to start. Okay let’s start off with the predictable favourite, the highlighters. It’s no secret I am a huge fan of the glow look, and the Afterglow 8 Hour Powder highlighter in Sin seems to be screaming my name. UD say ‘ Afterglow isn’t your average highlighter; we took the time to finely mill the powder until it was just right. The result: a lightweight (yet luxurious) feel and a super-soft, creamy texture ‘. This comes in three shades, but I know that Sin is the perfect champagne gold shade for me. This will retail for £19.00 and will be available first on the UD website.

Walk of Shame 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil

Walk of Shame 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil

I love the Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner line, have been using it for years and my love has never waned. However I didn’t know they did waterline pencils, did you? I think this may be a new launch. When I saw the Walk of Shame pencil, it was a genuine I-need-ASAP moment. I am always on the lookout for the perfect waterline nude pencil, and this shade was made for the waterline. Could it be more written for me? I always use nudes more often in the warmer season, as I light my look to be more lighter and airy so this is a perfect fit for the summer collection. This will retail for £15.00

Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector

Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector

Oh my, doesn’t this look interesting? Some of you may know already that I don’t wear foundation very often, and when I do wear it, I mix it with moisturiser to thin it out. This seems like the answer to my prayers. UD say: This multitasking cream combines all the benefits of skin treatment and protection with the coverage of a sheer foundation. It’s the best of both worlds! Instantly blur imperfections and even out skin tone—for beautifully perfected, ultra definition skin. That’s what I’ve been looking for! The reason I wear foundation is simply to even out my skin tone, so this products sounds right up my street. It comes in 6 shades, I think I’d be the shade Medium. This will retail for £25.00

I hope you liked my overview of the  Urban Decay Summer 2016 collection, I can’t wait to get my hands on the products I mentioned as they look absolutely stunning. Urban Decay pretty much always deliver I find, and I am confident this collection will be a hit. Make sure you grab your favourites before they disappear. Speak soon, Tanzina x

The Body Shop British Rose Collection – Mother’s Day Idea!

I wanted to share with you today a collection that has recently launched at The Body Shop. I thought it would be a great idea for a Mother’s Day present or even as a gift for yourself! The very first Mother’s Day present I ever bought my mum with my own money was actually The Body Shop Grapefruit Shower Gel, and I kid you not, till today it is still her go to shower gel. I was really intrigued by the The Body Shop British Rose collection as I am a huge fan of rose scents and so is my mum, so I felt like this could be a winner for the both of us. Let me share some of the bits from the collection with you.

The Body Shop British Rose Collection

So the collection has quite a few products ranging from soaps, shower gels to of course the traditional Body Shop body butters. I wanted to do a quick overview of the bits that I got and share with you my first impressions.

British Rose Instant Glow Body Essence

British Rose Instant Glow Body Essence

So this is described as a body lotion with an ultra-light texture. I’ll be honest, I don’t moisturise as much as much as I should as I hate waiting around for my moisturiser to absorb and unfortunately I am at that age now where my skin is paying for it. This body essence sinks into the skin so quickly, it seems like the hybrid product I have been looking for. Obviously I haven’t tried it out long enough to see a long term difference, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this pops up in my favourites soon. I also really like the pump as it means less effort for me, I can leave it on top my drawer to remind me to use it as just pump it out when I am ready. I know, lazy me. This smells really lovely as well, the scent is a fresh rose scent, it reminds of fresh roses in the rain. This is actually Body Shop’s first Body Essence, I hope they bring more out in difference scents. You can pick it up here or in store for £15.00

British Rose Petal-Soft Hand Cream

British Rose Petal-Soft Hand Cream

I love The Body Shop hand creams, and this one is no different. This isn’t a really rich hand cream, so if you are looking for that you might be a little disappointed. Don’t fret Body Shop have a whole selection of richer hand creams. However for me this works really well as it absorbs instantly and isn’t greasy meaning I can type away at work without having to worry about greasy keyboards! The scent isn’t too strong either, meaning it isn’t distracting as I hate strong smelling hand creams which annoy me when I eat. You can pick this up here or in store from just £4.00

British Rose Exfoliating Soap

British Rose Exfoliating Soap

If you are on a bit of a budget, or just wanted to try something small from the range, you could pick up the British Rose Exfoliating Soap. This promises to cleanse and exfoliate and contains real rose petals. You can pick this up here or in store for £4.00

British Rose Eau de Toilette

British Rose Eau de Toilette

Last but definitely not least, the British Rose Eau de Toilette. This is both mine and my Mum’s kind of scent. Looks like we will just have to share the bottle! This EDT is perfect for the coming Spring season, it is so fresh but also not overpowering either. It’s definitely not the grandmother-y rose scent I was worried it might be. It’s light and I think the best description for it is that it smells like a bouquet fresh roses. I’m looking forward to using this both by itself and also layered with other perfumes. This retails for £19.00 and you can pick it up here.

I hope you like this peek at The Body Shop British Rose collection and it’s given you some ideas, whether it is for your Mum or for yourself (I promise not to judge). My favourite from the collection is the British Rose Instant Glow Body Essence, although the British Rose Eau de Toilette is a close runner up. I’ve got my eye on the shower gel so once my current one runs out I’ll be stocking up on the British Rose Shower Gel. Speak soon, Tanzina x

KIKO Midnight Siren Collection

KIKO have recently launched their KIKO Midnight Siren collection, and since it has been a while since I done a new launch/collection blog post, I thought I would share this one with you. This caught my attention straight away as it was a very pro-glow collection, and if you’ve had a look at my recent makeup looks you’d know I am loving the glow look. I thought I would quickly talk through the new products and point out my favourites.

The very first product that caught my attention was the Cream Radiance Highlighter in 01 Twilight Gold. I am literally obsessed with highlighters at the moment, it is really concerning because I think I am getting too carried away and collecting them all like Pokémon’s. Ooh, whilst we are on the topic op Pokémon’s the packaging of this product is a sphere like a Pokéball, it was meant to be! I do really like the packaging, it is completely impractical if you were planning on travelling with it, but it does look pretty sitting on my makeup table. The formula of this product is gel to powder, and it is very easy to apply to your highlight points. I like using this as a highlight base, so I apply this and go over with a powder highlighter, so you get that really intense glowy look. You could wear this easily on its own for a more subtle natural finish. The colour is a gorgeous champagne gold shade that’s leans slightly on the warmer side, and it applies very smoothly onto the skin. At a £10.90 price point, it is a definite recommend.

Next we have the Silk Pearl Illuminating Bronzer in Radiating Honey. This is a 3 shade illuminating bronzer, which I have been using along my temples and in the hollows of my cheek. I find that the three colours swirled together provide subtle warmth to my skin tone, but I think this will be more effective on someone who is lighter in skin tone to me. However I will say I completely see why it is called a silk bronzer, it is very silky and the shades blend together beautifully and buff into the skin easily. This retails for £14.90.

Moving onto eye products, I have two products to share with you today. Firstly the Moon Shadow Water Infused Eyeshadow. I was really interested in trying these as I love KIKO cream shadow pencils, so I was intrigued to see how these ‘water infused’ shadows performed. The shade I got to try out is 01 Glamour Gold, which is a very pretty bright pearly champagne gold with a gorgeous silver sparkle running through it. It is a gel like cream formula that goes on very smoothly on to the eye lids and blends dreamily. I’m not exactly sure what the 42% water in the product does, but I suspect it has something to do with how smooth the shadow glides on, especially considering there are glitter particles in the product. I have been wearing this shadow quite a bit, and I really want to pick up more of these as I love the finish they provide and how once it sets, it doesn’t budge.

I also got the chance to try the Shape & Shummer Eyebrow & Highlighter Pencil. I was quite excited to try this because the tip of the eyebrow pencil is thin and round which is perfect for precision. I’ve got this in the shade 03 Dark Chestnut and Brunettes, and I found it to be very easy to use. You can see both the eyebrow pencil and highlighter in action below.

KIKO

The Moon Shadow Water Infused Eyeshadow retails for £7.90 and the Shape & Shimmer Eyebrow & Highlighter Pencil retails for £8.90.

Finally, last but not least, I have the KIKO Matte Muse Lipstick in 01 Plushy Rose. This comes in 6 shades and Plushy Rose is beautiful rose pink which compliments my skin tone really well. It is actually slightly milky and a little lighter than I would normally go for but somehow it works. If you’ve read a few of my posts, its blindingly obvious that I am a huge matte lip fan so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this. I find it takes a minute or two to achieve a true matte finish, and it has a very comfortable moisturising wear for a matte lip product. This retails for £6.90.

KIKO is a brand that really packs a punch, and doesn’t hurt your purse too much either. As expected, this collection is beautifully put together and not only do I love the colours, I also love the feel and quality of the products. My two favourites are the Cream Radiance Highlighter and the Moon Shadow Water Infused Eyeshadow, I am pretty much wearing these two products every day.I hope you enjoyed a little look at the KIKO Midnight Siren collection, let me know what caught your eye.
