Elizabeth Arden Grand Entrance Mascara Review

I though I would do a quick Elizabeth Arden Grand Entrance Mascara review for you all today, as this is a mascara which has just launched in the UK on the 1st of February. I have been using this for around a month now and really trialling it out just to see what my thoughts on it are.

Elizabeth Arden is a brand I really like, mainly due to their 8 Hour line however this was the first time I was trying a mascara from the brand, so I didn’t really know what to expect. When this first arrived, I did really like the packaging as it was a bright red, meaning it wouldn’t get lost in my every day makeup stash, and I wouldn’t be digging around trying to find it in the morning. Honestly I think I should do a video or post on my every day makeup stash, it is a mess and in dire need of organising!

Immediately upon pulling out the wand, I thought okay, I could get along with this mascara as it was a plastic wand. After years of trialling mascaras, I tend to favour plastic wands although every now and then I am impressed by the fibre ones. The wand has a slight curve to it which really helped in lifting my lashes, I didn’t realise how much of a difference that would make, but it really made my lashes stand out.

I don’t really build my mascara up, when I do, my lashes glue together really unattractively and it just isn’t a pretty sight. However with this mascara it was so easy to build my lashes, and they looked so defined and obvious. I’ve inserted a couple of before and after pictures below just so you can see the impact this mascara made to my lashes.

I didn’t even know my natural lashes could look that long! I am truly impressed with this mascara, it has been a very long time since I used a new mascara that made me stare at my lashes so much. I took these pictures yesterday, but I couldn’t contain myself, I had to share it with my friends and social media straight away because the before and afters were so impressive.

I find the formula to be very black, which is a necessity for a dark hair gal like me, and also to be the perfect consistency. Actually scratch that, the first 3 or 4 times I used it, it was slightly too wet but as I used it more, it became the perfect consistency. Like I mentioned, it builds up really nicely which not all formulas do, and it doesn’t clump my lashes together. It is definitely more of a lengthening mascara, however volume definitely does build up as you build the mascara up.

I thought I would make you guys aware of a special deal Elizabeth Arden are currently doing for the release of this mascara. Usually it is priced at £22 however to celebrate it’s launch, they are selling it for £15 all month this February when you take in an old mascara from Elizabeth Arden in store OR you can actually pick it up online for £15!  You can pick it up here.

I am so in love with this mascara, I actually featured it in my monthly favourites (if you haven’t seen that already I’ll leave a link below #shamelessplug). I have been using it literally every single day I wear makeup for the past month or so, and it is definitely a mascara I would recommend for someone looking for length and looking to build up mascara without clumping. If you do want to try this mascara out, I would advise picking it up as soon as possible so you save a bit of money.

I hope you guys liked my Elizabeth Arden Grand Entrance Mascara review, it has been a bit of a picture heavy post but I just loved how the pictures turned out that it was really hard not to put 50 pictures in! Let me know if you would be interested in trying this mascara out, and if there are any mascaras that are your favourites! Tanzina x

BareMinerals Lash Domination and Moxie Lipgloss ‘Hot Shot’

Hi you, I feel like I haven’t written for a while and have lots and lots to talk to you about. Recently Eid just went past so I’ve been busy with that and now the run up to about 6 weddings in the next two weeks has just started so I’ve been running around sorting things out for that! Such a little busy bee. Today I have a look at two products from BareMinerals for you (if you haven’t guessed from the title) which I hope you like reading about!

The first one is a new mascara, and I am sure mascaras are like buses. A few weeks ago the ones I was using were drying up and I didn’t have any back ups so I went and purchased three new mascaras. Literally over the next two or three days about four mascaras landed on my desk – how annoying! But I’m not going to complain as they are pretty darn good mascaras to be fair! The one I have for you today is the new BareMinerals Lash Domination mascara with an exclusive ‘ProTwist 180′ wand. Have a look at the pictures below.

Quite an onslaught of pictures huh? I wanted to make sure you all had a really good look at the pictures and see the before and after effect properly. The mascara promises to ‘completely curve around lashes and and coat from all angles‘ and I find it does do that as you twirl the mascara 180 degrees. The bristles are really flexible which I find help fan out the lashes and to be honest I found that the after pictures didn’t really do the mascara justice. My lashes definitely look much more fuller than before. However you can still see that in the before and after pictures there is a significant difference and I find this mascara to be the one I am reaching for most at the moment. It works really well with the lower lashes as well I find, you can really see that in the pics above. The formula is really nice as well, as it does the job but it isn’t a nuisance to take off. The wand is really nice too, easy to use and helps curl my lashes upwards. Overall I would definitely recommend this mascara for anyone wanting to try a new mascara and can see this product being really popular.

This mascara is out already, it has just come out this month and retails for £16.00. I think that is a really good price point especially as normal drugstore/high street mascaras are at times £12 a pop! You can pick it up at any BareMinerals stand or online.

bareminerals moxie lipgloss

The next product I have for you today is one I am especially enjoying, the BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in ‘Hot Shot‘. It’s not a true to colour lipgloss which can be a bit disappointing to someone who expects full cover, however with so many pigmented full coverage lip glosses in my collection I found it rather refreshing to have one that was sheer to medium.

This lipgloss has quickly become my go to every day gloss, it is so easy to wear and I really can see my lips looking plumper after application. The finish by itself is a pink nude which is very wearable but you know I am a bold lips kinda gal so for those bold days I pair it with NYX Slim Line Pencil in ‘Fuschia’. The applicator is really lovely too, makes the gloss easier to apply and I don’t find the gloss to be too sticky which is always a plus! The gloss has a mint/spearmint smell… I can never tell which, it just reminds me of chewing gum which I am not adverse to at all so it doesn’t bug me a bit. Overall I am loving this gloss, and think I will be splurging on more glosses from the range. I really want to try a hot pink Moxie lipstick to pair this gloss with, I feel that may be a killer combination!

You can pick this baby up for £16.00, slightly pricer than what I spend on glosses however with the amount of use I get from it I think I can justify another two, or three! This comes in 14 different shades.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post, I am planning on doing a ‘BareMinerals’ face post using mostly BareMinerals products soon however please bare with with me because I have quite a few looks to get through first! Hope you have a lovely day and let me know if you pick anything up! Lots of love, Tanzina x

Clinique High Impact Curling Mascara Review

Hi you! Today I am writing about mascaras, something that I haven’t done for a while. It has been  while since I last done a mascara review post and I think it’s about time that fact was amended. Today’s weapon of choice is the new Clinique High Impact Curling Mascara, a mascara I was really excited about trying out. I am a HUGE fan of the Clinique High Impact mascara, it was my first high end mascara and I absolutely love it and actually am currently using it on a daily basis. I was really intrigued to see how the two compared.

The mascara is relatively newly released, and promises to ‘help coax lashes to a long, bold, upturned look, without a pinch, pull or tug. Smudge, flake, smear-resistant formula holds for up to 24 eye-opening hours’. That really seemed up my street as my lashes are relatively long in length however they don’t have any curl to it so they don’t stand out as much. As much as I adore the original High Impact Mascara, it is definitely more volume than curl.

The wand is curved which is always promising as that definitely helps with creating a curl and also the tip tapers in whereas the base is wider. I found this to be really helpful, the tip really lets you get in to the inner corner lashes and also coat the bottom lashes well. The base of the wand helps plump the lashes and add more volume as it is wider.  I thought I would do naked before and after pictures so you can really see just how the mascara works for me. And no, I don’t mean literally naked, I mean with no eye makeup on! Although I could be literally naked that is for me to know and you never to find out! Have a little look at the pictures below.

As you can tell from the pictures there really is a significant difference in the before and after pictures and I do find that the mascara curls my lashes so that they stand out more. Bear in mind in order to put the mascara to the test I didn’t use any lash curlers, with curlers the look is even more intense. The mascara also is more of a lengthening and curling mascara rather than a curling and volumising one however I love that as the original High Impact meets all my volumising needs. I found that the curl really does stay in place and doesn’t drop and helps frame my eyes well making them look even bigger than they really are. The formula promises a flake, smudge and smear free finish and I definitely would say that it ticks all those boxes as this lasts all day without any issues.

Overall I would say I adore this mascara, it really is lovely. I’m usually a two mascara on the go kinda gal as I need one for length and one for volume and with High Impact Curling Mascara and the original High Impact Mascara I think I have found my power couple for perfect lashes. I would recommend this mascara, and definitely the original High Impact too. You can have a better look at all the Clinique mascaras here. This mascara retails for £17.00 and you can pick it up here or at any Clinique stockists. It comes in two shades, Black and Black Brown but I prefer Black personally as my colouring is dark. I’m already eyeing up the next mascara I want to try, I LOVE volume and the Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume mascara seems to be screaming my name! I really want to get my hands on that beauty. I hope you enjoyed today’s post, I will definitely be bringing you a few more mascara reviews as I really enjoyed seeing the before and after difference. Take care of yourself and speak to you soon! Tanzina
