New Years Glam Makeup Look

Can you believe 2015 is on it’s way out? It feels like this year has flown by and I can’t actually believe that tomorrow is the beginning of a New Year. 2016, you better be my year. Today I have a New Years glam makeup look that I recently created. It is glam, sleek and clean with a little bit of glitter to get the party started.

Glam Makeup Look

Just to mark the end of 2015, I thought I would make the focus of this look my favourite beauty trend of 2015: highlight. I have picked up so many highlighters this year, so I had to make sure my look had my #HighlightOnFleek. I actually did quite a bit of contouring on this look too, as I wanted a flawless sculpted look. For my eyes I kept it quite neutral, as I have been with all my look all year, but I threw in a hint of sparkle just to make it party appropriate. I hope that you like this look!

For my lips I wanted a rich wine shade, and I had to actually custom make this shade as I don’t really have many wine shades in my collection. Something to remember for 2016! I create this shade by applying lip pencil first and then lipstick on top, and then lip liner again to deepen the shade again.

For my eyes it would have been a crime not to use the shadows I’ve been using the most throughout this year which are of course the Anastasia shadows. I think I will tone down using them in 2016 as I pretty much rely on them for every single makeup look, and that is a bit boring. So beauty resolution no.1: try different eye shadow brands! But just for this last makeup look of the year post, I’m going to give the Anastasia shadows some lovin’. I also used really fine gold glitter for this makeup look to add some sparkle. The actual glitter I used is actually meant for your nails, but I found that it works fine on my eyelids, as long as it doesn’t get into my eyes obviously. Some people are more sensitive than others so use at your own risk!

Hope you guys liked my New Years glam makeup look and that you find it useful. As this will be my last blog post before 2016, so I hope you have an amazing start to the year and next year is the year where dreams come true for you. Thank you so much for reading my blog, and keeping me motivated to keep on blogging. Love, Tanzina x

My Every Day Makeup Look & Becca Opal Review

I’ve been toning down my every day makeup recently, it is a conscious decision as I feel like I want more of an emphasis on my look when I do make an effort and also to save some precious minutes of sleep every morning. I thought I would share with you all my every day makeup look and also a little review of the Becca Glow on the Go set, which I have been loving as of late.

I thought the best way to tone down my look would be to get rid of the liquid liner. I love liquid liner and the drama it brings to the eyes, but I find a smokey soft lined eye still frames the eyes nicely but it doesn’t seem as ‘made up’. I’ve achieved this smokey liner look quite easily using sellotape, and a mixture of burnt orange, brown and black shadow. There is no need for a crease colour or a base colour I go straight in with the liner shades and a touch of highlight on the inner corner. I am also trying to create softer brows by moving away from my much loved Anastasia Dipbrow and instead just using brow powder.

Here is a list of eye makeup products I used:

That is definitely the shortest list of eye makeup products I’ve listed! Usually we’ve got lash glue, false lashes, a whole palette of shadow… its quite nice leaving it quite simple for once. Now for the face makeup, I have been all about that glow for the longest time now, and I don’t seem to be slowing down at all. Although I have to admit, I did apply the highlighter a little heavier than normal in these pictures as I wanted to make sure it shows up well on pictures.

With indoor lighting & blended in to the skin

I recently picked up the Opal Glow on the Go Collection, which contained a mini Becca Opal Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed and also a mini Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid. It basically is a collection of a pressed highlighter and liquid highlighter in a shade I have coveted for a very long time.  I adore cream highlighters and use them on a regular basis, but I hadn’t actually tried many liquid ones so I was intrigued to try the Becca one and see it is was any good. Boy, was it good! It applies beautifully on the skin, it isn’t streaky and you get such a gorgeous dewy finish which I know I will be adoring all season. I topped it with the Becca Opal pressed highlighter and wow. This was the first time I had tried a Becca highlighter and I now know what the fuss is about, it is silky smooth and creates the most insane highlighted effect, it definitely is for the ones who want their glow noticed, i.e me.

As I was going out on the evening I took these pictures, I decided I wanted a little more coverage than usual and I achieved this by mixing my Elemis Flash Balm with a bit of Illamasqua Skin Base. I then went in and done the usual concealer before I started on the highlight. For the highlight I started off with the Becca liquid highlighter, I added it to the top of my cheeks, tip of my nose and my cupid bow. Then I contoured the hollows of my cheek slightly with Casino and applied a light dusting of the Sin blusher. To finish off, I topped the liquid highlight with the Becca pressed highlighter.

I am loving deep berry lips this season, so of course I opted for that! I applied MAC Burgundy which is quite a dark deep wine shade, and then I applied my current favourite lipstick, MAC Amorous, on top. And ta-da I was done.

I’ve been wearing this look on pretty much a daily basis recently, bar the foundation, and I have to say it has made my daily routine much quicker. I think it is also because I know which products to reach for, there is no time wasted in decision making and figuring out what products would look well together. I hope you liked my every day makeup look, l’ve been loving it lately. Let me know what your favourite highlighter is, Tanzina x

Anastasia Eye Shadow Look: Icy Blue

Hi loves, life has been a little hectic recently and I just haven’t found the time to put together a post. Normally I am quite harsh on myself when that happens, but this time I decided to relax and just write when I’m ready, I hope you don’t mind!

If you’ve read my blog for a while you know I have a lot of time for Anastasia Beverly Hills products. I’ve been using them for years, and some of the brands products have become my holy grail items. I absolutely love the shadows especially and have several shadow palettes in my collection. Today I thought I would create an Anastasia eye shadow look with a bit of colours as I have been pretty boring and neutral as of late. The look I came up with is an icy blue one that reminds me a little of the movie Frozen.

Anastasia Eye Shadow Look

I thought I would focus on the eye makeup rather than the whole look as it can get really lengthy writing all the steps I took to create the look. I actually mixed and matched the shadows between the Anastasia Shadow Couture and Tamanna palette, but as the shadows are sold individually you can pick the shadows up by themselves. Unfortunately you will have to pay for shipping from the Anastasia website, as the single pans aren’t yet available in the UK, but hopefully they will head over soon. I can hope!

Here is a list of the products I used:

As always I started with brows and applied by brow products. Once my brows were done I cleaned up underneath with the Anastasia concealer and then applied UD Eden Primer Potion all over my lid. My go to base shadow is now Fresh, which I have actually hit pan on. I applied that all over the eye area as a base shade. I then went straight into the blue shadows, initially applying Venezia into my crease and then Azure on the outer V to darken it. I kept blending till there was a nice fade, and then I went back in with Fresh under the brows to highlight.

Next I decided to use an eyeliner pencil I had been neglecting for a while. I had purchased a few black Up eye liner pencils as they seemed really pigmented and creamy but as I had been opting for more neutral eye looks, my pencils were going unloved. I decided to use No.10, a beautiful bright blue on my waterline and lower lash line. Once I applied it onto my bottom lash line, I went over it with Venezia to set it. Finally, to finish off the look I applied mascara, liquid liner and false lashes. The lashes I opted for are a very dramatic pair from the Eylure Vegas Nay collection called Grand Glamour. I really wanted something dramatic, to draw attention to the eye look and I think these lashes delivered that.

Anastasia Eye Shadow Look

I really enjoyed using colour again, and I do love how this look turned out. Yes, blue eyeshadow isn’t something I would wear every day but I think I might start trying to inject colour back into my life by wearing a colourful eye look at least once a week. The 18 year old me would be so disappointed at how boring the 24 year old me has turned out! I hope you liked this post, if you have any colour combinations you would like to see, just let me know. Affordable Makeup Look

I’ll be the first to admit that sometimes I can be a little snobby and think that cheaper makeup products with not so luxe packaging aren’t that good in quality, but I know that is me being narrow minded and it couldn’t be further from the truth. The drugstore/high street makeup game has been raised so high nowadays, and good quality makeup is very easy to find in shops like Boots, Superdrug’s, clothes stores and even supermarkets! When Beautiful Bronze by Sunkissed sent me over some bits to try, I was a little sceptical, could a brand that is so affordable, create a good makeup look? I’m very pleased to report that yes it can.

Beautiful Bronze Everyday Glamour

The look I went for was a subtle rose toned look, with as many drugstore/high street products I could find in my makeup stash. I used a gorgeous pink copper shade on the eye, with a matte bronzer through the crease. I didn’t want to over complicate this look, and leave it quite simple and wearable. Here is a list of products I used on the eyes:

For the face makeup I wanted something flawless and glowy. I’ve been loving the Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit (which I reviewed here) so I wanted to incorporate it into this look as well. I did a tiny bit of sculpting as well using the Beautiful Bronze Quick Fix Concealer, which was tad bit too light for me but I made it work using a slightly warmer concealer.

Face & Lip Products Used:
  • Beautiful Bronze Perfect Primer £3.00
  • Illamasqua Skinbase Foundation: SB10 (I still haven’t found a high street foundation that matches me)
  • Beautiful Bronze Intense Colour: Caffe Latte £2.00
  • Beautiful Bronze Quick Fix Concealer: Nude £2.00
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer: Medium 3
  • Beautiful Bronze Giant Bronzer (matte shade) £3.00
  • Sleek Creme to Powder Blush: Carnation
  • Sleek Highlighting Palette: Precious Metals
  • Sleek Matte Me: Birthday Suit

I genuinely love how this look turned out, its simple and wearable and the warm tones on the eyes seem prefect for Autumn. I normally always ignore the makeup section at my local Primark, but next time I walk past I will be having a look. The prices of the products are so affordable, I had to highlight them out to you because I was shocked at how low they were. I am also loving the glow, which I created using the Sleek Precious Metals Highlighting Palette. I love a creamy highlighter and this one blends in perfectly.

I think I will put aside my snobbery and traipse down the high street makeup aisle a little more and try brands like Beautiful Bronze that I haven’t tried before.  I have actually never rifled through the makeup section at Primark, so I think next time I visit I will definitely see what other products catch my eye. I hope you liked my affordable makeup look, what I’d like to know is what drug store/high street brands do you think I should try?

My Eid Makeup Look

Eid is always an occasion to dress up and doll up, and if you had a peek at my Eid Outfit of the Day, then you’d know I definitely dolled up. I thought I would do a quick over view of my Eid makeup look today, as I tend to use some of my favourite products on special occasions. I find that is true for most people, you stick to what you know for birthdays and Christmas, and Eid in my case. I don’t tend to experiment as much, and I use products that I know work well for me, as essentially, I want to look good!

For my eyes I wanted something a little smokey, a little warm, but with an antique gold shimmer to compliment the gold bronze shades in my dress. I wanted lashes, because if you can’t wear lashes on a special occasion when can you?! Here are the products I used:

For my face and lips, I went for the fail proof combination of highlighted cheeks and a classic red lip. Again I used some of my favourite products like MAC Ruby Woo and newly discovered but much loved Laura Geller Gilded Honey highlighter. Here is a list of products I used for my face and lip:

My Highlighting Technique

For a highlight that looks dewy, and more importantly stays, I now use a special method. I spray my highlighter/buffing brush with MAC Fix+ and then dip it in a cream highlighter, right now I am loving MAC Pearl and Illamasqua Gleam in Aurora. I then dap that on to my highlight points. Then I go over it with my powder highlighter of choice (Laura Geller Gilded Honey for this look) and lightly dust it on top. That always results in a glow that lasts for me.

My Eid Makeup Look

I hope you liked a quick peek at some of my favourite products and my Eid makeup look, I thought it would be nice to share since it was quite a special day for me. A little off topic, I am actually in the process of recording some YouTube videos, I would love to know what kind of videos you would like me to film. Please let me know in the comments, thank you!
