More Sleek Matte Me Lipsticks

Hey loves, welcome back to this corner of the internet. I wanted to talk to you guys about Sleek Matte Me lipsticks, as I have added more to my collection. Some of you guys may already know I adore this product, as I talked about them quite a few times over here. You can read about my favourite two shades [here] or even see a swatch video of my collection [here]. Today I have three more colours to share with you, so read on to find out what I think of the latest shades.

Sleek Matte Me Lipsticks

I’m not going to talk too much about how much I love these products and all the pros and cons, you can read all about that in the blog posts I mentioned above. Instead I want to show you the shades and talk a little about how they looked on me. These launched early this year, and I’ll be honest I was a little nervous about testing these out as some of the shades are just SO out of my comfort zone. But of course, I had to tempt fate and try them out. I wanted to see if I could make them work, make them suit me, to see if they could remain in my collection.

This is a tube of pastel toned lilacy goodness. Okay I’ll admit, even I thought it was a little too bold for me. I actually first swatched this shade at work with pretty much only mascara on. It was fair to say I scared a few people. However with a bit of glam on, I think I might be able to rock it. What do you think? I would say to wear lip liner with this so your lips are even before application. I think there are lots of people that can rock this comfortably, I’m just sad I’m not once of those because I am a wimp and am scared to brave bold shades like this in public. I hope to one day be brave enough to just rock it. However I will definitely keep this in my collection, just for some fun and edgy looks I plan to try out. You can pick this shade up [here] for £4.99

Next we have another pastel, this is a pastel peach shade. This I would say, is a tad too light for my complexion which is a shame as it is such a pretty colour. I tried playing with different lip liners underneath but I just think it is a bit too bright and too light for me. To make it a little wearable for myself, I applied MAC Spice lipliner (review here) underneath and then patted on the liquid lipstick on top. It is a very richly pigmented shade however and could be a winner for the right skin tone. You can pick this shade up [here] for £4.99

This is my favourite of the three. I love pinks, so of course this ticked that box. It is a bit pastel in shade, but not as much as the others. It is also quite bright and pretty and a lot more wearable than the other two shades. It makes me feel all girly which is never a bad thing. It is very richly pigmented as well. I apply it with a nude pink lip liner underneath just so the edges are perfect and opaque. I actually wore this shade out recently so managed to take a picture of a full face of makeup so I thought I would add in those images for. Bear in mind picture has had a filter added and edited. If you want to know what other products I am wearing for this look it is all on my IG page (@makeupatoz). You can pick this shade up [here] for £4.99

Although one of the shades was a little too out of my comfort zone, I am glad they created that shade as it will definitely work on other skin tones. I am actually quite proud of the fact that I soft off pulled off Lavender Crush, I’ll try to create more looks with it. I hope you liked my review of these Sleek Matte Me liquid lipsticks. Let me know which of these shades you wouldn’t mind trying out. Oh, if you’d like any details of the products I used to create the above makeup looks, be sure to head over to Instagram, all the information is on there. Speak soon, Tanzina x

Lord & Berry Timeless Kiss Proof Lipsticks

Good morning guys, hope your day is going well. Today I am going to jump right into it and talk to you about the Lord & Berry Timeless Kiss Proof lipsticks. A package arrived on my doorstep containing three of these Lord & Berry beauties and it made me squeal in delight. I have actually heard quite a few good things about Lord & Berry, but just hadn’t picked anything up from the brand myself. I was excited to finally try something from them, and also try their liquid lipsticks as I am a huge fan of liquid lipsticks. Matte and long lasting? Yes please! I wasn’t sure what to expect however as I hadn’t really heard much about these before.

I was excited to see that the colours I received were all colours I could see myself wearing and suiting. I received three lipsticks in the following shades: First Lady, Pop Pink and Brave Red. I’ll quickly talk you through the packaging before I go onto the product themselves. The lipsticks are housed in a lip gloss like tube with a really nice wand. The wand is slightly longer than your average doe foot applicator and is also slanted for easy application. There is 7ml worth of product in each tube. In terms of formula, the consistency is a little bit like thin paint, it seems like it will be drying but it is actually really comfortable due to the essential oils the product contains. It dries really matte, really fast which is amazing. It is annoying when you have to wait a long time for the product to dry down so I was so glad to see that wasn’t the case here. The coverage is what blew me away, such perfect and full coverage. One swipe and your lips are covered. Oh that and the staying power! I actually have just kissed my hand several times like a weirdo to see if the product is actually kiss proof and I can report that it is. On my first application I applied lots of lip balm under the lipstick, and had a little transfer so I would suggest you avoid doing that! Now lets talk colours.

Lord & Berry Timeless Kiss Proof Lipstick First Lady

This colour is a gorgeous browny nude. It’s so perfect for my skin tone and I think it looks quite similar to a 90’s brown lip. It has subtle golden shimmers running through it but I didn’t really see them appear on my lips. That being said, this is still my favourite shade and one I find so easy to wear.

Lord & Berry Timeless Kiss Proof Lipstick Pop Pink

Lord & Berry Timeless Kiss Proof Lipstick Pop Pink

Lord & Berry Timeless Kiss Proof Lipstick in Pop Pink

This is pretty fuchsia hot pink, it is bright and vivid and couldn’t have come to be at a better time. It reminds me of a good summer, so I am looking forward to wearing it this season. It reminds me of some of old MAC lipstick shades like Girl About Town that I’ve neglected in favour of liquid lipsticks.

Lord & Berry Timeless Kiss Proof Lipstick in Brave Red

This is a classic red shade, and a staple in all makeup collections. I feel like it has some blue tones to it and will remind you of classic hollywood sirens. As it is so easy to wear, and provides such good colour payoff in just one swipe, I’ll definitely be turning to it when I want a quick and easy red lip.

Overall, I am pretty impressed by these products. Enough so that I want to try more things from the brand, I’m hoping they too will impress me just as much. The liquid lipsticks retail for £15.00 and you pick it up here.

Hope you liked my Lord & Berry Timeless Kiss Proof lipstick review. I’ve been wanting to share this with you guys for what feels like forever, but have had so much going on I haven’t been able to. So glad I finally am, because I am hoping you are like me and love to discover new brands and products. Let me know if you have any liquid lipsticks on your radar that I should be picking up! Huda Beauty Brown Edition Liquid Matte Minis Review & Swatches

Hi loves, I’ve been working on a Huda Beauty Brown Edition Liquid Matte Minis swatches video, and I finally have it up to share. I thought it is only right that I write an accompanying review as you don’t really get that from a swatch video. I’ll keep it short and sweet and cover what you can expect from the Huda Brown Edition. I’ve never really tried Huda Beauty liquid lipsticks out before, so when I saw these mini kits I knew I had to pick one up so that I could form an opinion on them.

Huda Beauty Brown Edition Liquid Matte Minis

There are 4 kits available, but the Brown Edition definitely looked the best in my opinion. It seemed to contain the most wearable colours, warm tones which really flatter tanned skin tones. Having never used Huda Beauty liquid lipsticks before I was really interested in finding out what the formula was like and whether they were comfortable to wear. I found that the colours were very rich, one swipe was enough to fully coat my lip and they were really easy to work with. They dried slightly slower on me than other liquid lipsticks (Beauty Bakerie, Lime Crime) but nothing significant enough to put me off wearing them. They felt really comfortable on the lips, not drying at all, I would say actually probably one of most comfortable liquid lipstick formulas I’ve used. Unfortunately there is a slight complaint, they don’t last as well as other liquid lipsticks. If you are just out and about and not snacking/eating, you have no issues what so ever but after a meal you will definitely have to re-apply. For me this is fine, I would probably touch up on long lasting liquid lipstick after eating anyways, so a re-application isn’t too much of a bug bear. I find that the drier your lips feel, the longer MOST products last. So it makes sense that the most comfortable liquid lipstick doesn’t last as long.

Let’s talk colours. Each kit contains 4 shades, and the Huda Beauty Brown Liquid Matte Minis set is no different. The kit contains Flirt, Trendsetter, Spice Girl and Vixen. I genuinely actually like every single shade in this kit which in itself is really surprising for me. Usually when I buy sets, such as the Kylie mini kits, there are shades that don’t suit me or are too light but Huda really has catered well for the tanned skin tones. I’ll quickly talk through each shade for you.

Huda Beauty Flirt Liquid Lipstick
Huda Beauty Flirt Liquid Lipstick

Huda Beauty Flirt Liquid Lipstick

Huda Beauty Flirt liquid lipstick feels like a perfect nude to me. It’s a cool toned nude on my skintone, and has definite brown tones running through it. I think it will suit quite a lot of skin tones and it is so easy to wear. One swipe is enough for full coverage and it doesn’t go patchy. Initially after applying, it is a little tacky so you have to wait a bit for it to dry but once it has dried, you are good to go. Full size is £18.00 and you can pick it up [here].

Huda Beauty Trendsetter Liquid Lipstick
Huda Beauty Trendsetter Liquid Lipstick

Huda Beauty Trendsetter Liquid Lipstick

Huda Beauty Trendsetter Liquid Lipstick might be my favourite, I’m still making my mind up between this and Spice Girl. This, screams my name. It reminds me very much of my all time favourite matte nude(ish) lipstick – Taupe [I’ve spoken about that here]. It has strong peach undertones and I feel like it really flatters me. I’m wearing this as I type, and I’ve had a couple of compliments on it at work today. The formula glides on, doesn’t take too long to dry, and is properly pigmented. I can see myself picking up this up in full size once my mini runs out.

Huda Beauty Spice Girl Liquid Lipstick
Huda Beauty Spice Girl Liquid Lipstick

Huda Beauty Spice Girl Liquid Lipstick is a mauve shade on me, and again I can’t get enough. It reminds me a lot of Limecrime Saint [spoke about that here], a shade which I have pretty much used up. I love browny mauve shades so this was bound to be a winner. Pigmentation is great and like all the other shades, this one is so so comfortable. One thing I really do like about the Huda Beauty liquid lipstick is that if you layer it, it doesn’t get cakey and dry and horrible. So even if you are touching up, you don’t need to completely remove it before you apply again.

Huda Beauty Vixen Liquid Lipstick
Huda Beauty Vixen Liquid Lipstick

Huda Beauty Vixen Liquid Lipstick

Out of all the shades I think Huda Beauty Vixen is going to be the one I wear the least. Not because I don’t like it, but because the other shades are more every day shades and this is more of a bold colour. I am more of a bright red kinda gal, and this is more of a deep brown red. That being said, it won’t go unused, I think for the days I am being a bit more bold, this can be the shade I turn to. I think date night when I look at it, so it will be my go to for a more glamorous lip.

Overall, despite the fact that the lasting power isn’t as great as other liquid lipsticks, I am loving this kit. Every single shade is so pretty and I know it is a kit I will get a lot of wear out of. I don’t think I will be picking up any of the other Huda Beauty mini kits, simply because I can see that I won’t like one or two of the shades, I am just so glad that I picked well and loved every shade in this set AND all the consistencies were good. The set retails for £33.00 which works out to be £8.25 per mini (1.9ml). It isn’t cheap, but I don’t regret picking it up at all. You can pick it up [here].

Cult Beauty Haul – Jouer and Beauty Bakerie

Hi loves, recently I picked up a few beauty bits from one of my favourite beauty websites, Cult Beauty. It wasn’t a hugeeee haul, so this won’t be a drawn out essay like post which I have the tendency to write, instead this is a quick ‘see what was in my Cult Beauty haul’ kinda post.

Jouer Cosmetics Power Highlighter Topaz

I was and still am signed up to quite a few wait lists on the Cult Beauty website. I LOVE that feature, helps me pick up products I’ve got my eye on like the ones in this post. I was scrolling through Instagram recently and saw someone use the Jouer Cosmetics Power Highlighter in Topaz and I think it was pretty much love at first sight. I’ve not used Jouer Cosmetics before so my interest was piqued. I rushed over to the Cult Beauty site to pick it up immediately, only alas, it was out of stock. So I signed up to the wait list expecting it to be a while before the product comes back in stock. However I got extremely lucky and it came into stock within a few days so of course I picked this up. The packaging feels luxurious and the colour is just divine, it is more on the gold side which is what I wanted as I have quite a few of the champagne shade in highlighters already. I can’t wait to have a play with this. I also picked one of these up for my best friend as I felt like it was going to be a winner. I will definitely be creating some makeup looks with this beauty, so be sure to come back for that. You can pick this up [here] for £19.00

The second thing I picked up in my Cult Beauty haul was a bunch of Beauty Bakerie Lip Whips. Just like Jouer Cosmetics, I haven’t tried anything from Beauty Bakerie before so again I was excited to discover a new brand. I talked about these on my wish list post [here]. The packaging for the brand looks absolutely amazing, I’m surprised I’ve never tried it before. I picked up 5 Lip Whips in the following shades:

  • Syruptitious – A mauve-rose shade
  • Fortune Cookie – A cool toned beige nude shade
  • Gingersnap – A warm burnt orange/brown red shade
  • Take Me for Pomegranate – A deep bold red berry shade
  • Mon Cheri – A pigmented classic red shade

Mon Cheri was sold out when I first tried to buy it, so I had to place a second order to make sure I got hold of it. Again I picked up two because it seemed like a beautiful red and I wanted my best friend to have one as well. I’m not going to review these here for you right now, there is a separate review/swatch video coming up for these so again make sure you check back for that. These retail at £16.00 [here]. Let’s just say I highly recommend you check them out.

That is it for my Cult Beauty haul, it’s a short and sweet one and you know what? Sometimes, just sometimes, I prefer that. It means I don’t have a heap of products to get through, a heap of products sitting there to be photographed, and I don’t get overwhelmed. I hope you liked today’s post and do let me know if you’d like to see more haul posts. Speak soon, Tanzina x

Sleek Matte Me Lipstick Swatches + Review

I’ve been using Sleek Matte Me liquid lipsticks for years now and have now collected a fair few shades. I’ve done a review on a couple of shades before, but I wanted to share some Sleek Matte Me Lipstick swatches with you today and also do a quick review. I’ve created a little video as well, so you can see how the shades look on me. It’s not easy to find good liquid lipsticks that are also affordable, but these are my favourite ones in the more affordable range.

The shades I have are:

  • Birthday Suit – a classic wearable peachy toned nude
  • Bitter Sweet – a pretty coral pink
  • Shabby Chic – a muted dark pink
  • Velvet Slippers – a muted deep plum
  • Vino Tinto – an intense deep berry
  • Fired Up – a dark crimson
  • Old Hollywood – an oxblood red
  • Rioja Red – is a true bright red

My swatch video, click here if you can’t see it.

Like I mentioned, I have been wearing these liquid lipsticks for years now, and have been slowly expanding my collection. My favourites still remain as Birthday Suit and Rioja Red which I reviewed here, but Bitter Sweet and Shabby Chic are close seconds. I would say some shades aren’t as pigmented as others such as Vino Tinto and Old Hollywood. However the others perform really well.

In terms of formula, I find these to be really comfortable, they aren’t drying on me and don’t flake or go patchy which is a pet hate of mine when it comes to liquid lipsticks. I would say the trick here is to apply in thin layers and build the colour up, the max layers I need for full colour coverage is only two layers. If you find it to be a little on the dry side, just apply a really thin layer of lip balm underneath and you will be fine. These last for hours on me, 6 hours plus on days that I am not eating much. They don’t peel off either when you do eat, rather they just fade a little which is okay as it isn’t as unflattering as peeling lips. The formula is quite liquid, but it dries really quickly and evenly which is ideal. I hate it when it doesn’t dry immediately and you have to sit and wait for it to.

The amazing thing about these liquid lipsticks are their price mark. These retail just under a fiver at £4.99. You can barely get a lipstick at that price nowadays let alone a liquid lipstick. The second great thing about this price is that they’ve kept it at the same price as it was in 2015 when I first got my hands on these, which is pretty remarkable since brands tend to increase yearly especially if the product proves to be popular, which this one has been. Go Sleek MakeUP! You can pick these up [here]if you feel like experimenting, I’d highly recommend Rioja Red as that is such a beautiful bold pin up red.

Make sure you watch my video to see the swatches, and see how the colours translate on my skintone. I am hoping to get back into making YouTube videos so make sure you watch this space. If you haven’t subscribed to my channel, please do! Speak soon, Tanzina x
