Berry lips seems to be a reoccurring trend every Autumn and Winter, and this year is no difference. A deeper red lip for the cold season is as predictable as glitter nails for Christmas and I thought I would share some of my favourite picks with you all. I have bright offerings to a really dark bold lip, and also luxury offerings to an absolute bargain… read on to find out more.
I thought I would start with a descending order, starting from the most expensive to the cheapest.
I introduce to you Tom Ford Black Orchid. This is the deepest of the berry reds in this post, a true deep red that translate a more brown toned berry in person. It does appear more darker in person but the tones of berry red in it are still visible. I like to dab this shade on to get a tint of colour but I think of late I have gotten braver and wear more bolder looks so I might be turning to this lipstick more often. It applies opaque. Usually these lipsticks retail at an eye watering £36.00 but I think this shade has become discontinued as I can no longer find it online!
Next we have Shiseido 304 also known as Sweet Pea, its a gorgeous red with a white shimmer running through it. It is true to colour from tube to lips and is extremely comfortable to wear. This is a lipstick I have gotten a lot of wear out of and it retails for £22.00. You can pick it up here.
This is Benefit’s Wild Card, a true berry red colour for the A/W season. It reminds me of berry reds you see around the Christmas season. It’s from the Full Finish range which means the colour applies really opaque and it has a moisturising sheen finish to it rather than a matte finish. Oh wow, I just checked online and this lipstick range is currently half price! What a bargain, usually this retails for £14.00 and is now here for £7.00. The silky finish range is also on sale, my favorite shade is Nice Knickers.
This much worn shade is Bourjois 77 Rouge Casual which is a smidgen brighter than the Benefit offering. Again a moisturising lipstick which is ideal for the colder seasons and the lipstick itself applies opaque and smoothly without tugging on the lips. This definitely falls on the more affordable side of things, as you can easily pick it up from Superdrug or Boots however it still is a bit of a pinch at £7.99. Bourjois have recently repackaged their lipsticks so I am not sure if this available but it is worth having a look anyway.
Finally we have Carmex Moisture Plus in Berry, the most affordable and actually my most worn of the selection today. This provides a sheer tint of colour to the lip leaving a very moisturised feeling to the lips. I’ve already gone through one of these this season already, it’s the easiest way of adding colour to the lip, adding moisture and care alongside it. It really is worth the £4.29 price tag it comes with and I can see myself purchasing this over and over again. You can pick this up at Superdrugs, Boots, pharmacies etc.
I hope you enjoyed today’s post, I haven’t really been posting much recently I’m not really sure as to why but I will try and get back on the posting more regular bandwagon. I hope you have all been okay, I don’t think much has changed in my life so nothing new to report! Ooh I have dyed my hair after around 4 years, I have decided to go a lighter brown but it hasn’t turned out as light as I would like. I might just keep it as it is as I am already missing my dark hair, it really bought my features out more! Have a lovely day and do remember to follow me on Bloglovin.! Tanzina x
