Mother’s Day with Elemis

Morning! With Mother’s day fast approaching, I thought I would do a post dedicated to a gift idea from one of my favourite companies, Elemis. It is a short and sweet post today, but hopefully it will give you some ideas on what to get the special lady in your life. For Mother’s Day, I sometimes end up getting a few pampering products for my Mum and.. kitchen appliances. I know, I know, that sounds really bad but I promise it is actually genuinely what she wants! Mum loves cooking, and any gadgets and crockery always keep her happy.

Elemis Jasmine & Rose Milk Bath

Elemis Jasmine & Rose Milk Bath

I think it has become the norm to buy flowers on Mother’s day, the bumped up price for bouquets around 30th March is testament to that! However, for a scent more beneficial and longer lasting I would highly recommend getting a bath product instead. You might already know about Elemis Jasmine & Rose Milk Bath, before it’s release I raved about it (here) and ever since I have loved using it in long, steaming baths especially throughout the colder season. I absolutely love the scent of this Bath Milk, a cross between two of my favourite floral scents and it is really moisturising product too as it is rich in Argan oil, Vitamin E and Camellia Seed Oil. Elemis have now made this product an addition to their permanent line and you can pick it up here for £42.00. I think this coupled with a candle would make the perfect Mother’s Day duo.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Treats

The next product is a little set, aimed at making the skin look more plump and protect the skin against signs of ageing. This is the Elemis Pro Collagen Treats set, and it contains a product I use pretty much every single day. The first product is the Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm, my favourite cleanser of all time. It is so good to the skin, so good at removing makeup and I also use it as a moisturising mask some days. I’ve talked about it so many times on here but if your looking for an in depth review then read it here. Also in the set is the Elemis Pro Collagen Advanced Eye Treatment, which helps smooth and firm skin around the eye and also targets fine lines and wrinkles. It is a liquid product so for those who dislike heavy greasy eye creams, this is the perfect answer. I haven’t actually trialled this product out yet, but I think I may make my Mum give me her opinions on it. It is also housed in a sturdy well made box (most free boxes aren’t!), which you can later use to store jewellery or knick knacks in. Knowing my Mum, she’ll use it for sewing bits and pieces. The balm by itself usually costs around £40 but you can pick up the whole set here for £49, saving almost £30. Bargain!

I did promise a short and sweet post today, not sure if I managed it as when I start talking about Elemis I tend to go on for ages and ages. I can’t decide what kitchen appliance to get this year, I might just get her a present when we go abroad as we MAY be jetting off a few days after Mother’s Day. I am absolutely dreading packing! Let me know if you have any gift ideas and also any blog posts you might like to see. Speak soon – Tanzina x

Illamasqua Perfect Pout Gift Set + Swatches

Hi loves! Today I have an exciting post for you all, a little treasure of a set that made me so happy when it landed on my doorstep. I’ve been itching to get my hands on to the products but wanted to take pictures for the blog first so I had to restrain myself. Hashtag blogger problems. However I have finally got round to photographing it, I got a little trigger happy and took lots of pictures for you all. Without much further ado I introduce you to the perfect sixsome that is the Illamasqua Perfect Pout Gift Set.

How beautiful do they look? I adore the packaging of the set, it looks really fancy and high end I like to think. Now as you have probably guessed from the picture above I actually won this set as part of a competition Illamasqua were running for the Christmas season. I don’t really ever win anything so I was so happy to see my makeup entry was picked yay! Plus a little side note, how pretty is that handwriting?

Now what is included in the set? The set contains six lipsticks covering a variety of different colours, and the set retails for £60 saving you a total of £40. That works out to be a tenner a lipstick which I think is a great deal! The lipsticks are all highly pigmented and five of the lipsticks are available to buy individually. Isis, a beautiful pink red, is exclusive to this set meaning you can’t get it anywhere else. Now let’s get on to the swatches.

The first three shades I thought I should share with you are the ones I am most comfortable wearing. The first colour is ESP, a vivid purple with a blue frost finish to it. I know vivid purple sounds scary but for some crazy reason I’ve just embraced the boldness of it and actually feel comfortable wearing it. Next we have the exclusive shade Isis, a pretty red pink with a creamy moisturising finish to it. I am ridiculously used to a bold red lip usually via MAC Ruby Woo however this shade seems the perfect shade to tone that look down a bit. I don’t have a toned down yet still noticeable red in my collection and this shade fills that void. The third shade is Scandal, a coral with warm pink undertones to it. I love this shade, it flatters my tan olive complexion and I bet it is going to be a staple in the warmer seasons (please hurry up Summer ’14)

illamasqua Plunge

Now the next three shades are what I would call daring for me, I shy away from pastel, nude, light colours and would typically never pick up those shades for myself but I think these colours will break away that shyness. Firstly we have Fable, a bright rose pink, and bright it is! This is so pigmented, one coat and its opaque. I’m thinking of pairing it with a dark smokey eye. Then we have Overbright coral pink, this also has a moisturising finish to it. This shade was a little bit tricker for me as the colour pay off was a little weaker however I still think I would get good use out of it for when I want a coral flush of colour on my lips. Finally, last but not least, we have Plunge, a beautiful bright mauve pink which I have surprisingly fallen in love with. It is so bold, contrast ridiculously against my tanned skin tone and super opaque and pigmented. I wouldn’t say it suits me, it’s a very barbie pink, however I think with the right level of confidence I could rock it.

You can get hold of the set here or at Illamasqua stockists.
I thought I would leave you with a makeup look I created using ESP, told you I was embracing that vivid purple! I love how Illamasqua break makeup boundaries and explore the unconventional side. If I hadn’t won this set I think it would’ve taken a few more years before considering a bright purple lip but look at me now, I’m already planning on using that Barbie pink Plunge for my next look!

I hope you enjoyed today’s post, I definitely enjoyed taking pictures of the set. Oh I almost forget, sorry if my lips look dry towards the end, lots of lip swatches tends to do that to you! Have a great day my loves, Tanzina x

NYX Wicked Dreams Palette

I have a quick little post for you today, featuring as you can tell from the title a NYX palette. NYX Wicked Dreams

This eyeshadow palette contains 24 shadows, with a mixture of satin, matte and shimmer finishes. It’s quite a dinky little palette, around the size of a Sleek eyeshadow palette however it holds lots more shades than I expected. The packaging itself is quite sturdy and would be great for travel especially as it has a great selection of neutral shadows to suit all your shadow needs. Now onto the colour payoff, I would say I would definitely pair these shadows with an eyeshadow base for optimal colour pay off and overall the shadows are of very good quality and the pigmentation is rich. However there are one or two misses, but nothing too significant that would put me off purchasing the palette. Without much further ado lets get on to the swatches.

The first two colours on the second row, the gorgeous glittering navy and the deep matte black really caught my attention. I can imagine them creating a beautiful shimmery smokey eye for a new years party. The last two on the last row also make me go ooh, a beautiful teal colour and a stunning bronze that would look beautiful paired together.

The palette I believe retails for £15 and is available in selected Next stores nationwide. You can also browse other NYX sets on the NEXT website here. I think the palette would be great for someone who wanted to try the range out and also someone who wanted a great selection of colours in an easy travel friendly palette. I should be doing a giveaway with this palette and other NYX goodies so keep an eye out for that in the New Year!

I hope you enjoyed today’s quick post, I’m trying to cram in gift ideas before Christmas so  hope this post was helpful. Until next time lovelies, have an amazing day! Tanzina x

Gift Idea: Elemis FreshSkin Smoothly Does It

I’ve got another gift idea for you today, and this one is aimed at the teen to young twenties age group. Skincare is a hard thing to get right when gifting, do you give a moisturiser, a cleanser or a big bunch of stuff? Products stock up and prices add up to sometimes an eye watering total and you end up getting rid of the initial thoughtful idea. However this set is a budget friendly answer to all those woes.

freshskin set

Elemis FreshSkin Smoothly Does It

This is the Elemis FreshSkin Smoothly Does It skin care set, a gorgeous bundle of skin care goodies at an amazing price tag of £25. This is aimed at dry skin types and the kit contains some of my favourite products and also some newbies I am excited to try out. I think a set like this is perfect for teens and young twenties to try and find a skin care regime that suits them. Sometimes you can gift someone presents that they can’t afford to replenish especially the younger age group. For example you can buy them a £50 face cream, which I’m sure they will love, but when it comes to replacing it becomes difficult. The great thing about these products is that they are affordable. Now let’s get on to the products, starting with the ones I have tried already.

freshskin exfoliator

freshskin moisturiser

I’ve tried both the Skin Glow Exfoliating Face Wash and Softly Softly Moisturiser and actually already have them both at home. The Exfoliating Face Wash is  a staple in my exfoliating routine, it’s the best gentle exfoliator I have tried. In the colder seasons I prefer using a more gentle exfoliator so this is my product of choice till Spring/Summer 14. This is what Elemis have to say about the products:Softly Softly Daily Moisturiser

  • Softly Softly Daily Moisturiser: Enriched with seaweed extract, this light and non-greasy daily moisturiser helps protect and moisturise. Rosehip seed oil and sweet almond oil deliver soothing and softening qualities ensuring the skin receives an instant hydrating boost. Skin is left revitalised and more radiant.
  • Skin Glow Exfoliating Face Wash: With a deep pore cleansing action, this exfoliating facial wash contains cherry powder and jojoba beads to gently polish and help refine skin texture. Enriched with mandarin and aniseed to soften and condition, leaving skin clean, brighter and more radiant.

Make-Up Away Cleansing Wipes

Magical Moisture Quenching Face Mask

Loving Lips Quenching Lip Balm

The next three products in the set are actually products I haven’t previously tried but have had my eyes on. Firstly the Make-Up Away Cleansing Wipes, now I’m not much of a makeup wipe fan anymore but I do always have a set of wipes at hand. Some days especially days where I am wearing lots of makeup, lashes, glitter.. I just don’t have the patience to sit with a cotton pad and cleanser to take it all off. Instead I cheat and use a wipe and then cleanse using cleanser and water. But I promise that happens like once or twice a month only! I’m looking forward to seeing how well these work. Next we have Magical Moisture Quenching Face Mask, I love a good mask so these are bound to be a hit with me. Finally we have the Loving Lips Quenching Lip Balm, something I have actually had my eyes on for quite a while. This product went straight in to my handbag and is already hydrating my lips on the go. Make-Up Away Cleansing Wipes

  • Make-Up Away Cleansing Wipes: Freshskin by Elemis make-up removing cleansing wipes are enriched with elderflower extract and camomile to gently sweep away impurities whilst softening and conditioning the skin.
  • Magical Moisture Quenching Face Mask: This super softening face mask contains white lupin, artic cranberry seed oil and apple extract to deliver an instant moisture boost to dry skin, while aloe vera gently soothes. Leaves skin radiant and exceptionally soft.
  • Loving Lips Quenching Lip Balm: This refreshing peppermint lip balm from the Freshskin by Elemis ranged designed especially for younger skin, is enriched with passionflower oil, sweet almond oil and vitamin E to soften and condition the lips.

You can pick this beauty up here for £25.00 for Timetospa.  You can also buy a combination skin alternative here. Ooh also, you can split the gift into two for two seperate people AND don’t forget it comes in a gorgeous hot pink bag that you can also make great use out of!

I hope you’ve enjoyed a look at this gift set and it has helped you with ideas. I will try bring you some more ideas over the next few days, but ideas that you can pick up in store as we are now only a week away from Christmas! Until next times lovelies have an amazing day. Tanzina x

Affordable Gifts: Radox Spa Gift Set

With the holiday season well and truly at full swing, it is hard sometimes to find affordable gifts for family and friends. Well today I have a gift set from one of my favourite bath time companies – Radox. I thought I would do a quick post for you today in case you were stuck on ideas or wanted a little treat for yourself.

This is the Radox Spa Gift Seta set of two bath and shower products and some dinky little candles to take the spa experience further. Radox say the set contains ‘a Radox Spa Soothe Bath Soak 500ml and Radox Spa Radiant Shower Cream 250ml with fig and neroli oil, both expertly blended with natural ingredients to deliver visible results to body and mind, along with two indulgent candles for maximum bathtime bliss. It will leave you feeling fresh, revitalised and glowing from head to toe.’

Now Radox is a bathroom staple in my house, and despite having fancy bubble baths and bubble bars, since I was 16 I have been buying bottles of Radox bubble baths for those quick but effective soaks. Currently on Argos this set is just £5.99, a great present for under £6. I think it would be a great gift to give, especially if you took it out of the box and wrapped it up in tissue paper. You can find it here.

I hope you enjoyed this super quick post, and it gave you ideas if your stuck or looking for secret santas. I’ve actually been trying this set out and having been really enjoying it. However I have started to notice that others in the family bathroom have started helping themselves to it too!
