Fenty Beauty Mean Money Hustla Baby Swatches

I’ve been hoarding my Fenty Beauty products for a while now, and finally can start posting about it as I have created a swatch video for my new Fenty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo. I really wanted to do a video on Fenty Beauty Mean Money Hustla Baby swatches, because when there is a huge hype around a product, sometimes pretty pictures just don’t give you the information you want on the product.

First Impressions:

I really liked the packaging, like really liked it. I think it has a good weight for a highlighter, love the shape and the fact that it isn’t too bulky and how the mirror has Fenty written on it in teeny tiny writing. In terms of the highlighters themselves, I like the size and how there is two options. Of course Hustla Baby is the standout highlighter but I don’t think Mean Money should be ignored. I liked that there was a more subtle highlighter as they are hard to come by and I’m a little addicted to highlight and think Mean Money would be perfect for work days when you don’t want your highlight too much ‘on fleek’.

Shades:

Mean Money is described as a soft champagne sheen whereas Hustla Baby is described as a supercharged peachy champagne shimmer. If you’ve watched my video you’ll know which one is my favourite (if you haven’t, then watch it! It’s less than 3 minutes long). I really want to try using Mean Money as a setting powder under my eyes, I don’t know why that is appealing to me but it is. I’ll let you know how that works out.

Longevity: Powder products tend to last well on me, my skin is quite dry, so maybe that helps? I found both highlighters to last me day to night, I didn’t actually time the wear, but I would say it easily lasted over 8 hours on me.

Overall: I love it. I’m so impressed by the fact that this isn’t just a brand that had a celebrity name stuck on it to make money. It seems like the products are genuinely really good quality and a lot of the products are quite unique and just not the norm in mainstream beauty (especially the new Fenty range that is coming out). The highlighter is finely milled, feels silky, isn’t chalky and just the perfect size. I really like the mirror and just am impressed overall. I don’t like the fact that in the UK it is only stocked in Harvey Nichols. I wish it was stocked in somewhere like Debenhams or John Lewis, stores that are found more easily locally – but hey maybe that’s just a tactic to make it more exclusive. Either way, it’s available online so other than base products, I feel like by reading reviews I’ll be able to shop online easily.

Price: I don’t think the products have been overpriced, which again is refreshing. You are looking at MAC prices for the Fenty range, which is nice because they easily could’ve charged more and still had the same demand for the range I think. The highlighter retails for £26 and you can pick it up here.

I really hope you like watching my XX swatch video, and it is helpful for you when it comes to choosing which highlighter will suit you. Of people of my skin tone, hands down choose XX, it is the most flattering shade for tanned skin like mine. Do let me know if you have any questions, I’d be more than happy to help. Also let me know if you like videos like these that are quick and easy to watch. Speak soon! Tanzina x
