Illamasqua Rose Gold Palette Review

I’ve accumulated a LOT of new makeup recently, but there has been a particular addition I have really been loving. It doesn’t take a detective to work out from the title I am of course talking about the Illamasqua Rose Gold Palette. I’ll be honest, the packaging was what initially drew me in, I’m a sucker for rose gold everything but then I saw the shades. Game over, my debit card was ready and before I knew it, it was on its way home to me. Today I wanted to do a quick Illamasqua Rose Gold Palette review and overview just in case you are intrigued about this special palette.

So I did mention it came housed in a gorgeous rose gold packaging right? Of course clever clogs me forgot to photograph the palette with the lid closed! Believe me when I say it is pretty. It’s not heavy and luxurious but it does look really nice. It is shaped in the trademark Illamasqua curved edge shape, which always means Illamasqua to me. So the palette consists of 12 shades, ALL of them wearable and right up my street. It’s a combination of I believe 9 mattes and 3 shimmery shades, which for a matte lover like me, is great news.

The shades are:

First Row – Slink (Champagne), Stealth (Buttermilk), Servant (Eggshell), Vernau (Yellow Ochre), Bronx (Bronze Gold), Wolf (Chocolate Brown).

Second Row – Forgiveness (Chocolate Plum), Fist (Deep Plum), Rim (Black Coffee), Tango (Rich Copper Bronze), Terra (Earth Clay Red), Obsidian (Rich Black).

Let me show you how the shades perform.

As you can see for yourself, the majority and almost all of the shades are extremely pigmented, rich and really really buttery. I couldn’t even pick a favourite shade, but if I had to, I’d say it might be one of the shades in my second swatch picture above (the brown shades). I have been wearing this palette ALL the time, no seriously, almost every time I do my makeup. It is just so well put together, you don’t need a separate palette for your under brow highlight or inner corner shimmer. You don’t need another palette for our outer smoke or your transition shade, this palette covers pretty much all bases.

I recently went to a wedding, and I thought I’d create a cut crease makeup look with this palette. I added a tiny little bit of Urban Decay Half Baked (gold shade) to make the gold pop but other than that, all the shadows I used were from this palette.

The palette isn’t the cheapest, it’s quite pricey I think at £44, but I do think it is worth it as pretty much every shade is useful and good quality. I wish the packaging was a little more luxurious, and weighty for £44 BUT I’d rather settle for okay packaging and amazing eye shadows than amazing packaging and okay shadows. If you are a fan of these shades, I’d definitely pick this palette up.

You can pick it up here.

I hope you liked my Illamasqua Rose Gold Palette review, and found the swatches useful. This is actually my second blog post all month, which is so so naughty but gosh guys, the pressure I’ve been under! My wedding has been bought forward, and we’re nearing the 100 days left mark, and gosh guys it has been so hectic! So please do forgive me, and I promise to be back when I can. Speak soon (hopefully), Tanzina x
