Hi loves, today I am really excited to share with you a collection I have been drooling over for what feels like the longest time. I’m going to keep this post quite short and sweet for you as I have a makeup looking coming up but I needed to share it with you this collection as soon as possible. As you can probably tell by the title, this beautiful colour collection is the Urban Decay Alice Through The Looking Glass Collection which I just can’t get enough of. I want to do a quick overview of the palette and lipsticks as they’re way too pretty to not talk about.
Let’s start with the main attraction, the Urban Decay Alice Through The Looking Glass eyeshadow palette. I am very fortunate as I already have the previous Alice palette from Urban Decay (Book of Shadows 3) so I knew that this one had to be a part of my collection too. I still use the previous one till this day, which says a lot about the palette and it’s quality as it came out SIX years ago! Let’s quickly talk packaging, just how stunning is the outer box? I don’t usually keep packing (anymore) as I am trying to stop being a hoarder, but I might have to keep this one as it is a beauty. The actual palettes packaging is the same as the outer box, and the rest of it is a little excess in a very beautiful way. You lift the lid up to expose a delicate butterfly, very Alice-esque, and a slide out drawer holds the 20 eyeshadow pans.
The colours in the palette are a true mix of some brights and some very wearable shades. I love that there is a really good selection, there are 20 shadows in total, all of which are brand new. I hate it when I get a palette and I already have like six of the shades, luckily no chance of that happening here. I love that the colours lean towards the warm side, which is my favourite as it suits me best. The third row especially as me drooling! Some of the shadows aren’t as pigmented as others but overall the palette is a keeper. I love the hot pink Cake shade, just looking at it gets my creative juices flowing. I am trying to create more content at the moment for my Instagram page (cheeky plug: @makeupatoz) and I feel like this palate will give me tons of inspiration. This palette seems to be out of stock online, but try popping into a Urban Decay counter where you might get lucky and pick this up for £43.
The collection also comes with 5 gorgeous lipsticks, some a little wacky and some more wearable. Urban Decay say: ‘Inspired by the new fantasy-adventure film release of Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass, these five limited-edition shades of Lipstick pay tribute to our favorite characters: Alice, Mad Hatter, Mirana (the White Queen), Iracebeth (the Red Queen) and Time, a peculiar creature who is part human, part clock.’
My favourite is definitely the matte red, Iracebeth, which is a bright pinky red matte which looks AMAZING on the lips. Crazily, this is my first time trying Urban Decay lipsticks (don’t worry, this will be remedied very soon with the new Vice lipstick release), and I cannot believe just how beautifully and easily this lipstick applies. It goes on like butter, no kidding here, it just glides on. It is so rich, so pigmented, clearly I have been missing out! The finish is called a ‘Comfort Matte’ and I get why! It is so comfortable on the lips, I’m currently taking this everywhere with me. I also really like Mirana, which is is described as a ‘matte berry with tonal shimmer.’
I hope you guys liked the quick overview of the new Urban Decay Alice Through The Looking Glass collection, I cannot believe just how quickly it sold out online! I’ve already created a look with this palette so I’ll get that up for you as soon as possible. Make sure you pop to your nearest Urban Decay counter to see if these products are available, as they’re going like hotcakes for a reason! Speak soon, Tanzina x
