I’ve often talked about how I suffer from dry skin and how I am always on the look out for new products to try to help combat it. I had a fairly set routine for the last couple of years consisting of a lot of Bioderma products, and although they do work, I felt my skin was getting used to it and I also wanted to try something new and effective. The brand Yes To, has come to my attention a few times, but I’ve just never got round to trying it. Today I wanted to share with you a few products from the Yes To Carrots range as I’ve been using them for over a month now and feel ready to share my thoughts.
A quick overview of the brand, just in case you haven’t heard of it. Yes To is an all natural beauty line using the benefits of fruits and vegetables to power products for our skin. They’re free from harsh chemicals and there are different fruit/vegetable ranges to suit all different skin types. My skin type is normal/dry so Yes To Carrots was the range for me. This brand really appealed to me as I had heard so many good things about it, and if I am going to try something new, the fact that it is natural and full of goodness, makes me less scared of reactions. Let’s get onto what I’ve been trialling.
I’ve been in the market for a new day cream and night cream, so I was really excited to try this product. It is very moisturising, you need the tiniest pump for the whole face (I’ve learnt this the hard way) and you get a completely shine free finish. I think that is something I’ve struggled with and put up with, the shiny finish most ‘dry skin’ moisturisers leave me with, so it was really refreshing to try something that didn’t give that. I was worried at first this meant it wasn’t moisturising enough but as my dry patches didn’t appear and my face didn’t feel tight throughout the day, clearly I was wrong. I am still testing it out, will let you know if this becomes a holy grail for me. This retails for here £9.99.
I love how rich and soothing this product is, I’ve been applying it every night and each morning when I was my face my skin feels really soft. Again, for such a rich cream, this does not feel oily or greasy, instead it is very silky and feels like it really seeps into the skin. As I write this, I did actually forget to apply it last night and this morning my skin really felt it, my face has a tight feeling to it which I do not like at all. It’s fragrance free, which is great for people with sensitive skin, but I’ll be honest I would like a teensy bit more fragrance in it to make it smell nicer for me. But it is such a small complaint really, I’m not too fussed and it wouldn’t stop me from using it and benefiting from it. To be honest, it is probably a good thing as I am adding on less thing to my face. This retails here for £9.99.
This is a product I can give you guys a full review on, as you tend to get a feel for cleansers and exfoliators quite quickly. I’ve been on the look out for a new exfoliator for a little while now, and this couldn’t have come along at a better time. I can really tell this is an exfoliator aimed at dry skin, as it doesn’t strip my skin of moisture, the cleanser part is quite creamy and nourishing however the exfoliator part has the grit I crave to get a really good exfoliation of the face. I feel like it spreads really easily over the face, and it washes off easily too. As I do suffer from dry patches, I need something that can get rid of the dead skin that dry patches leave, and this is so effective for removing that. I’ve been using this two to three times a week, and I can say that I have noticed a definite difference in my skin and it’s radiance. Of course the change in my skincare as a whole contributes to that as well, but I used this product way before I started on the other two and even by itself I could see a change in the appearance of my skin. This retails for £6.99 here.
I feel like my first foray into a more natural skincare routine has been a largely successful one, and I have been really pleasantly surprised by the Yes to Carrots range. I think subconsciously I thought that with it being a stripped back all natural brand, it would lack the quality of the products I’m used to but I couldn’t be more wrong. I am still trialling out the moisturisers but so far so good. I can’t believe how affordable the brand is either, again I assumed because it is natural and has organic ingredients I would have to pay a little more than I am used to but I am glad to have been corrected.
I hope you liked my review of the Yes To Carrots range, remember even if you don’t have dry skin like I do, there is a range to suit every skin type so have a read here to discover yours.
