Winter is truly here, and my skin has definitely acknowledged it. My skin hates this season, I get dry skin patches everywhere and my lips crack and bleed which is not attractive at all. It is really my fault, I get a bit slack with my skin routine, and before I know it is winter and my skin pays for it. Although I am now back being good with my skin care, I wanted to share with you all my winter skincare favourites that helped kicked start my moisturised skin goals. Not only that, but by checking out a site like https://www.glossier.com/reps/rohini, you might be able to get some of your Winter beauty products for a discounted price. If that doesn’t cheer you up coming into Winter, I don’t think anything will.
I have never been one for body moisturising, I just concentrate on my face and have expected nature to take care of the rest. And it has, for a while, I got my body moisture levels tested at a PR event about 4 years ago and my skin was fine! However as I’ve aged (I’m 25 next week), my body has started getting quite dry and flaky. This Kiehl’s Vanilla & Cedarwood Body Lotion has been such a life saver, it is so rich and moisturising and it doesn’t feel greasy after use either. I used this after two showers, and noticed a massive difference in my skin condition. I am going to aim to stick at moisturising after my showers and hopefully that will help prevent the dreaded flaky skin from returning. You can find it here for £24.00.
Sometimes I am lazy, okay a lot of times I am lazy, and there are occasions where after my showers I just can’t be bothered to moisturise and I just slip straight into my pajamas. This is when the new Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour All Over Miracle Oil has been just amazing. I just quickly pump a few sprays on to my arms and legs and massage into the skin. It is so easy and so moisturising and I don’t get that guilty feeling of neglecting my skin. I also run this through the ends of my hair very sparingly, I spray it onto my hands and apply to my hair. I feel like this helps minimise frizz and also leave my hair feeling soft. Sometimes when I am really lazy, I spray directly on to my face and massage in and then head to bed. That is a bit naughty but it is better than not moisturising at all right? This is a fairly new launch for the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour range, and it retails here for £29.00.
Talking about Elizabeth Arden, I can’t write this post without including my all time winter skincare favourite – the original 8 Hour Cream. This is the answer to my chapped lips, dry patches and that horrible red sore patches around the nose. I can’t live without this, and it is also my other half’s favourite. He has stolen a tube from me and every time he misplaces it he accuses me of stealing it back! I’ve done a full review on it (here), you can pick it up here for just £11.95. Such a bargain.
Last but definitely not least, I adore face oils and definitely need to have one as part of my winter skincare. I’ve never really used anything ESPA previously so this was my first time exploring the brand and I have to say, I am really impressed. This is the ESPA Optimal Skin ProSerum, which I’ve been using for about 3 months now. Essentially it is a serum, which is why I suspect it does not feel greasy on my skin at all. It sinks in quickly and when I apply moisturiser on top, my skin feels so silky and so smooth afterwards. I also really love the scent on this, it is very spa like and calming. I use it as part of my night time skin care routine as I feel like it is just a tad bit too pricey for me to be using it twice it day! It retails here for £48.00.
I hope you liked my winter skincare favourites, I am still trialling different brands every 6 months or so as I am searching for the perfect skin care routine but some of these products are definitely holy grail material (such as the Elizabeth Arden products). I’d love to know what your favourite skin care products are, please leave me a comment below. Tanzina x
