LA Girls Pro Concealer Review

When I first started getting into makeup I was obsessed with eye shadows, I had to have every colour I could think of. Then I grew up a little and decided I wanted lipsticks instead, and I have amassed so many over the years. Recently I have been collecting concealers, I don’t know why, but I find them so satisfying. I thought I would do a LA Girls Pro Concealer review today, as this is my latest concealer and I’ve really been testing it over the past month.

LA Girls Pro Concealer is a concealer which has been so popular on social media with lots of YouTubers and Instagrammers raving about it. I think what makes it even more attractive is the really affordable prices of these, my friend picked this up for me from Beauty Base for just £5 each. With the highlighting and contouring trend still going strong, it is so surprise these where a hit as they really do help make the process easier. The brush and the squeeze tube packaging is very practical, both for application and also for travelling with. It doesn’t seem like you get that much product, with the product containing 8g, however I compared it to my much loved Anastasia Beverly Hills Concealer, and that contains 10g but is priced at £20! So really, you are getting quite a bit of product for your money.

I picked up the shades Creamy Beige and Pure Beige, as I felt they would match my skin tone the best. As I was going for shades to highlight under my eyes and my face, I wasn’t look for something that was the same shade as me, instead I wanted to go a few shades lighter. I actually didn’t pick them up in store myself so I used Google images to find swatches and made my decision based on that. Luckily, I got the shades right! My favourite is Creamy Beige as it is slightly lighter and brighter on my skin tone.

So what is the consistency and coverage like? Well let’s start with the consistency. This is really creamy, blends easily and it dries down nicely too. There is no shine, it is matte and it doesn’t crease under my eye. So in the consistency/finish category, it is definitely a thumbs up from me. However, I find the coverage isn’t up to my standards, I like my dark circles to disappear completely, like they have been erased. And my other concealers such as the Anastasia one and Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer especially, make the dark circles disappear. This does cover dark circles, and is fine for every day use, but as I have gotten used to really good coverage this doesn’t completely satisfy me.

That being said, I still do really like this concealer. It is just so practical, and easy to use. The consistency isn’t too thick so if I am in a rush I can blend it out easily and it is more than good enough for an every day/work day makeup routine. For more glam looks, I would opt to use my other concealers if I felt I needed coverage, and use this for highlighting. I can’t stress enough that I think this is perfect for cream highlighting, and I am definitely going to pick this up in a darker shade for contouring with.

Overall, I would definitely recommend these concealers. I feel like they are very affordable and you are getting such a good product for your money. I think I will try picking it up on my skin tone so I can use it on red areas and on other areas on my face which I wouldn’t want to highlight. I can’t imagine a highlighted spot/bump looking particularly attractive! You can pick these concealers up here or in store at Beauty Base. Tanzina x
