My Every Day Makeup Look & Becca Opal Review

I’ve been toning down my every day makeup recently, it is a conscious decision as I feel like I want more of an emphasis on my look when I do make an effort and also to save some precious minutes of sleep every morning. I thought I would share with you all my every day makeup look and also a little review of the Becca Glow on the Go set, which I have been loving as of late.

I thought the best way to tone down my look would be to get rid of the liquid liner. I love liquid liner and the drama it brings to the eyes, but I find a smokey soft lined eye still frames the eyes nicely but it doesn’t seem as ‘made up’. I’ve achieved this smokey liner look quite easily using sellotape, and a mixture of burnt orange, brown and black shadow. There is no need for a crease colour or a base colour I go straight in with the liner shades and a touch of highlight on the inner corner. I am also trying to create softer brows by moving away from my much loved Anastasia Dipbrow and instead just using brow powder.

Here is a list of eye makeup products I used:

That is definitely the shortest list of eye makeup products I’ve listed! Usually we’ve got lash glue, false lashes, a whole palette of shadow… its quite nice leaving it quite simple for once. Now for the face makeup, I have been all about that glow for the longest time now, and I don’t seem to be slowing down at all. Although I have to admit, I did apply the highlighter a little heavier than normal in these pictures as I wanted to make sure it shows up well on pictures.

With indoor lighting & blended in to the skin

I recently picked up the Opal Glow on the Go Collection, which contained a mini Becca Opal Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed and also a mini Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid. It basically is a collection of a pressed highlighter and liquid highlighter in a shade I have coveted for a very long time.  I adore cream highlighters and use them on a regular basis, but I hadn’t actually tried many liquid ones so I was intrigued to try the Becca one and see it is was any good. Boy, was it good! It applies beautifully on the skin, it isn’t streaky and you get such a gorgeous dewy finish which I know I will be adoring all season. I topped it with the Becca Opal pressed highlighter and wow. This was the first time I had tried a Becca highlighter and I now know what the fuss is about, it is silky smooth and creates the most insane highlighted effect, it definitely is for the ones who want their glow noticed, i.e me.

Face and Lip Products Used:

As I was going out on the evening I took these pictures, I decided I wanted a little more coverage than usual and I achieved this by mixing my Elemis Flash Balm with a bit of Illamasqua Skin Base. I then went in and done the usual concealer before I started on the highlight. For the highlight I started off with the Becca liquid highlighter, I added it to the top of my cheeks, tip of my nose and my cupid bow. Then I contoured the hollows of my cheek slightly with Casino and applied a light dusting of the Sin blusher. To finish off, I topped the liquid highlight with the Becca pressed highlighter.

I am loving deep berry lips this season, so of course I opted for that! I applied MAC Burgundy which is quite a dark deep wine shade, and then I applied my current favourite lipstick, MAC Amorous, on top. And ta-da I was done.

I’ve been wearing this look on pretty much a daily basis recently, bar the foundation, and I have to say it has made my daily routine much quicker. I think it is also because I know which products to reach for, there is no time wasted in decision making and figuring out what products would look well together. I hope you liked my every day makeup look, l’ve been loving it lately. Let me know what your favourite highlighter is, Tanzina x
