I recently attended a party/dinner where we all dressed up, it was a family and friends function which was arranged like a wedding so I knew I needed to make sure I was looking presentable. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to take snaps of my makeup look as I was be dolling up and making a little more effort than normal. I wanted a golden glowy makeup look to compliment the gold tones of my dress and jewellery and I thought that would look really nice against the contrast of a bold red lip. I knew the look had to be a bit glam, as Asian events always require that, but I didn’t want to go too overboard and create a heavy drama makeup look. I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out, but I pulled out some of my favourite products (like the original Urban Decay Naked palette!) and came up with this look.
Eye Makeup Products Used:
- Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade : Medium Brown
- Anastasia Concealer: 3.0
- Urban Decay Primer Potion: Eden
- Urban Decay Naked Palette
- Laura Geller Eye Calligraphy Pens
- Avon Supershock Gel Eyeliner Pencil
- L’oreal Volume Million Mascara
- Eylure Fleur Loves Lashes
As always, I started off with my brows and added the DipBrow to them, I didn’t try to be as perfect here as I didn’t really mind them being a tad bit more natural. I filled them in, and filled in gaps and then cleaned up under the brow with the concealer. I buffed the concealer into the brow bone as a bit of an under brow highlight. I then applied Eden primer all over the lid and crease to act as a base for the shadow. Normally I use so many different shadows from different palettes so I thought this time I would only use one, my much love Naked (original) palette. I applied Buck to the crease and blended it out using Naked (which is definitely my most used shade from the palette). I took the shadows out slightly on the outer V to create a very slight cat eye shape which I later sharpened and cleaned up using concealer. Next I applied Smog all over the lid with a bit of Half Baked in the centre to add a bit of a pop. I went over the outer corner with Buck and Naked, and deepened both the outer corner and the crease Dark Horse. I also applied Virgin to the inner corner as a highlight. Next I applied the Avon liner to the bottom lash line and smudged it out with a bit of Dark Horse and Creep. Finally I applied pencil liner to the waterline, lined the eye with a flick using the ever so precise Laura Geller liner and applied mascara and lashes.
The lashes I am using here are the Fleur 3/4 lashes I spoke about on Eylure Fleur lashes post. These lashes are amazing and so so easy to use. They look so natural and effortless and I already know I will be repurchasing these forever.

I wanted a dewy glowy finish to the skin so I started off mixing the Flash Balm with Skin Base foundation. I then added a bit of bareSkin in Honey as I need yellow to match my skin tone and this foundation is really yellow. Next I applied the Anastasia Concealer under my eyes and along the tops of my cheek bones as a highlight. I went over the tops of my cheek bones with MAC Pearl to add a dewy cream highlight as well, and also it is a good base for my powder highlighter which I applied later. Next I contoured the hollows of my cheek bones and along my temples using the contour shade from the Sleek contour palette. I am recently really enjoying this contour kit, it was my very first contour product and I now remember why I loved it so much. I then went in with my blusher and finished off by applying the gorgeous Laura Geller highlighter with a fan brush. I applied this very lightly on the tops of my cheekbones and my nose and cupid bow. I wanted it look very light and glowy but I don’t think these pictures do the look justice as it looked much more glowy and golden in real life.
For my lips I stuck to my very tried and tested combination of Ruby Woo liner and lipstick. I love Ruby Woo, it is my favourite red lip recipe and I don’t think anything will ever actually beat it. I’ve even nearly finished a whole tube of it so will need to pick up another one very soon.
I hope you liked this golden glowy makeup look that I created, I am really kicking myself now as I wish I had done an outfit post too but unfortunately I can’t rewind time! Next time I go for an event I will try to do a full outfit post alongside the makeup look so you can see how they pair together. Let me know what looks you would like me to create next, and I will do my best to make that happen for you. Speak soon, Tanzina x
