Hi loves, I am an absolute lover of all things perfume related and am constantly getting new additions for my collection. If I am honest, my perfume collection has gotten a little out of hand… however every time a new perfume catches my eyes, I have to have it. Today I wanted to do an Elizabeth Arden Untold Eau Fraiche review, as it is a perfume I have had for a couple of months so I know I have had it long enough to form an opinion on it.
The name, Untold Eau Fraiche, gives away the fact that this is a very fresh scented perfume. Fraiche can be translated as crisp, dewy, fresh, lush in English which I think describes the perfume perfectly. This is the second perfume I am trying from the Elizabeth Arden Untold line, the first being Untold Absolu which ended up being my birthday scent (I spoke about it here). This is much lighter, crispier variation which is also more fruity and zesty on the skin. I usually gravitate towards strong, heady scents which are more evening appropriate so I was really intrigued to see if I could like a perfume like this. I was very pleasantly surprised as I found to be fresh but not too citrusy, with white floral notes which really appealed to me. It isn’t overpowering at all, and very day appropriate with light woody notes adding a little bit of warmth to the scent.
I am definitely not a lover of ‘day’ perfumes, the bright floral and citrusy perfumes, but I do find a lot of my perfumes are a little too heavy for a day in the office. This perfume is the perfect in between, I think it also helps that this is an Eau de Toilette hence why it isn’t too overpowering for me to wear. It’s light but with some depth, fruity without heaps of orange notes thrown in and floral without making you smell like freshly cut grass. Here are the notes of the perfume:
Top: Sparkling White Tea, Mandarin, Lush Green Pear
Mid: Freesia, Lily of the Valley, Orange Flower
Base: Cashmere Woods, Musk, Vetiver
Looking at the notes of this perfume I think it must be the base notes of woods and musk which makes this so appealing to me, as it adds that layer of warmth to even out the perfumes ‘freshness’. Like I mentioned above, bright floral/fruity scents really aren’t my cup of tea and this perfume has just the right amount of depth to make it a winner for me. In terms of packaging, which I am a sucker for, this comes in the same beautiful unique bottle as the other Untold collection perfumes come in. The bottle has some weight to it which is always attractive as it makes it feel luxurious. The perfume itself is a unique pastel green colour that lends itself to its name, Fraiche.
One of my favourite thing about this perfume is that it isn’t really that easy to get hold of, unless you know where you are looking. It isn’t available on all Elizabeth Arden counters, and is only available at selected Bentalls and Beales stores and online at http://allbeauty.com/. I am a little precious about everyone wearing a perfume I love, I know that’s a little mean, but I do like having own little secret scent. You can’t have a signature scent if everyone you come across is wearing it too!
I always try to use perfumes for a few weeks at least just so that I can report back on it properly, as perfume is such a personal product and the experience can vary depending on your mood – hence why it has taken me so long to write this post! I hope you liked my Elizabeth Arden Untold Eau Fraiche review, and if you have any other perfumes you would like me to talk about just let me know. Love, Tanzina x
