Elizabeth Arden are a brand that have become a staple in my skin care set up and I was intrigued to see if that would be the same case for my makeup bag. I thought to try out a few products and share my thoughts with you all, so that is what I am aiming to do today. The products I’ve had a play with are the Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Colour Cream Eye Shadow Stylo and their Gel Eye Liner in Deep Sea Pearl (Black). I’ve been incorporating these products into my makeup look over the past couple of weeks and really getting a feel of them before I reported back.
Elizabeth Arden Gel Eye Liner in Deep Sea Pearl (Black): I was really excited to try this because it has been quite a while since I last used gel eyeliner, nowadays liquid and pencil seem to do the trick for me. However I have missed the pigmentation and longevity that gel liner provides so I was keen to see if this one would reignite my love for this type of liner. I’ve used a fair few gel eyeliners but this was definitely the creamiest one I have ever come across, which made it very easy to use. I used to enjoy the MAC Blacktrack gel liner but it was at times quite drying so used to tug on the eye lid making it difficult to create a bold seamless line however this one is much better at achieving that. It is true black in colour and easy to smoke out if you were aiming to use gel liner to create a smokey liner look. I am yet to apply it all over the lid to create a smokey look but the products consistency seems to suggest that would work really well so I am looking forward to trialling that out. After application, it really does set well and does not budge at all – exactly the qualities I am looking for from a good gel eyeliner. You can pick this up here for £17.00
Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Colour Cream Eye Shadow Stylo: I was most excited to try these as I really enjoy the ease of using shadow pens/sticks/pencils or in this case Stylo! I find them to be perfect for a lazy day and I was hoping these ones would end up in my favourites. I really enjoy the KIKO pencils and was keen to see how these would compare. For someone who tends to opt for neutral shades on the eyes these days I could tell straight away that Bronze Pearl was going to be my favorite and wow was I right! I’ve been wearing Bronze Pearl all over my lid with warm matte shades in the crease for about two weeks straight now. I even wore it on my first day at work which really is saying something as I always try to make a good first impression, so only the best products for Day One. It blends really well and I usually smudge it out using my fingertips making it even quicker to apply. I haven’t really been wearing Freshwater Pearl (pink shade) that much but I can see it being a great base for when I am using lighter shades on the eyes however the Blue Pearl shade works really well with darker shades to create a steely smokey makeup look. I might have to create some looks to show you all how I used them. Once these set, they really set… don’t let the creamy texture fool you, you don’t get creased eye shadow or any of that unattractive flaking, they last fine for 8 hours plus. Unfortunately these are limited edition so if you were interested I would try grab them as quick as you can, however I am hoping Elizabeth Arden come out with more shades in the future. I can see myself using these a lot over the next few months simply because they make my ‘get ready’ routine much quicker. I’d definitely put this on my highly recommended list (maybe I should create an actual list!). They retail for £19.00 here
Judging from the Elizabeth Arden products I have used recently and in the past, I can definitely say that they will be having a permanent presence in my makeup bag – although I can’t decide what my favourite product from their collection is. It’s a tie between the Eye Shadow Stylo in Bronze Pearl and their Beautiful Colour Moisturising Matte Lip Stick in Bold Red which I absolutely love (I spoke about it here). I might have to choose the lipstick due to its luxurious packaging which I am a sucker for. Let me know what your favourite Elizabeth Arden makeup products are so I can see if I like them too! Until next time, take care, Tanzina x
