Hi loves, today I wanted to share with you all a challenge I was set by St. Ives which resulted me in baring my makeup free natural face after a 7 day challenge for all of the websphere to see. I can warm myself up to doing a makeup free selfie for Instagram every now and again but that is with the aid of very good lighting and heavy filtering, so it is fair to say I was slightly nervous in taking part in this challenge. However nevertheless I decided to take part and bare it all. Read on to see how I got on.
On the first day of the challenge I started exfoliating using the St.Ives Apricot Scrub. I have been using this for years and years and it has always been my favourite exfoliator as it actually does help my dry skin patches like no other. However I had finished my previous tube and didn’t get a chance to pick up another yet so this was a pleasant reintroduction to my life. As the 7-day challenge went on I used this pretty much every two days so ended up using it 3 times during the week.
On St.Ives recommendation I started drinking more herbal tea and having healthier snacks. When it comes to herbal teas I think the most I can muster would be green tea but I am going to stick to dried apricots and walnuts every now and again, as they were extremely tasty. I was also introduced to a Tangerine EOS balm and I have to admit these little things are pretty addictive! However I am not complaining as I could do with being addicted to lip balms in the coming colder months.
Relaxation was another important factor I had to consider during this challenge and also making sure I was rested. With the aid of sleep mists, de-stressing books and bubble baths I did make a conscious effort to distress and relax more than usual. I honestly can say that this made a difference to my skin in comparisons to the mornings where I wake up with not much sleep.
Within my bubble bath routines, I did manage to incorporate the St.Ives Apricot Body Scrub into my routine, a product that I have found to work wonders in getting me to have super silky legs. I’ve written a post about it here. Now when the challenge was complete, I had to do a makeup free selfie, and I decided to do one straight after I woke up and washed my face. So yes, they were taken in my pajamas!
I loved this challenge because it did make me actively think abut how I am treating my skin, and also my general well-being, something which I easily forget about as I get on with my daily routines. I think in a couple of months I should set myself my own challenge, maybe something like a pamper week where I concentrate on getting my body to recharge. It’s easy to forget about these things when we get so caught up in the world. Thank you St.Ives for reminding the importance of taking care of your mind and body! Hope you guys liked this post, I’d highly recommend if you took part in the challenge. Let me know if you do! Tanzina x
