..And the award for the biggest pot of primer goes to: Mally! Today I’m talking to you all about QVC’s Beauty Pick of the Month which is actually one of the biggest, luxurious primer I have ever seen. I’ve started using face primers on a daily basis now, I didn’t think I’d see that day but it has finally arrived. Wearing concealer under the eyes for 10 hours a day, 8 of those in front of a computer, means that my concealer is prone to creasing and nothing is as unattractive as creased up concealer settled in the fine lines of your face. I alternate between a small sample of Makeup Forever HD Primer and Tarte CC Primer so when this landed on my doorstep, I was eager to find out what I made of it. Without much further ado, let’s get on to the Mally Supersize Perfect Prep Poreless Primer.
Now let’s talk all things packaging. This is so luxurious, a huge glass like jar in a gorgeous pink/lilac shade that just shouts ‘I’m something special’. Coming in a 79.4g, it isn’t the most travel friendly pot however with the huge amount of product that is in the pot you can easily afford to depot a generous scoop to depot into a travel pot for your commuting needs. You unscrew the lid to find the primer inside, ready to apply straight from the pot to your face like a moisturiser. I personally do prefer this as you don’t have to worry about squeezing/pumping out too much product and trying to put it back into the tube! I am talking from experience. The one thing you do have to be careful about is making sure you screw the lid on back tight, but that is pretty normal and easy to do. You massage the product into your face prior to applying any base, which is just how I apply all other primers.
The best word to describe the product itself isn’t really a word itself however I am going to use it regardless, it is ‘siliconey’. I absolutely love the consistency of it, it is described to be weightless and I agree with this wholeheartedly. It is a primer that is aimed at making pores look they have disappeared and large pores aren’t one of my skin issues however it works an absolute dream with the fine lines under my eyes. I love the velvety smooth feeling it gives to my skin, and I do believe it helps me blend out my contour and blusher more to make it look seamless. I have to admit it does give my concealer a bit more of a ‘slip’ when I apply it underneath and whilst this may be a bit annoying with my really soft creamy concealers like the Urban Decay concealer pencil, it works a dream with my more ‘stiff’ concealers such as the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer (yes I know this isn’t really a concealer but you pretty much everyone and their uncle uses it as one!). The concealer also blends really well with this underneath so I can afford to go a shade lighter for the Kim K look and not worry about looking like I have white panda circles under my eyes.
I would highly recommend this product, and can completely understand why it is QVC’s Pick of the Month. It has some great reviews over at QVC, so I am not the only one thinking it is rather special. Mally say you can apply this over your makeup to get a matte look, and I can see this working as the product is so light it won’t looked cake but I am yet to try that technique. If you’d like to know more about this product, you can find it here for £49.98 with free P&P and also read all the great reviews.
I hope you enjoyed today’s post, it was one I was excited about ever since this huge pot arrived on my doorstep. I haven’t done a dedicated product review in a while so it was nice to get back into the swing of things. Until next time, hope you all have a great day x
