Hi guys, today I was tempted to share more pictures of my holiday however I thought it is about time I shared a beauty-related posts with you guys. Now this isn’t a too in-depth one, it is more of an overview but I thought it would be one you might like having a look at. Very recently it was my boss’s wedding and I decided to attend with my best friend. Initially I thought I would wear a saree, I had one picked out however with my recent trip to Dubai I picked up some Abayas (a long flowing dress) and decided to opt for one of those instead.
For my hair I decided to go for something down but I wasn’t really sure what. I ended up opting for a wavy slightly retro (only because I can’t fully create the full retro) look to one side. Initially the curls were a little too tight for my liking but as the evening wore on it dropped slightly and became more retro-y – if such thing exists! For jewellery and accessorises I didn’t go too heavy at all, instead I wore a long pair of silver stone earrings for jewellery and a matching silver clutch. I didn’t want to wear a heavy set of Asian jewellery as the dress itself had a lot of work on it especially around the neck and chest. Because the dress was so long for me, I opted for a pair of black Guess wedges. That helped me dance the night away!
Now on to makeup, the bit I enjoy most. I wore foundation – I almost always do at weddings but I actually sculpted my face slightly using Illamasqua Skin Bases. For my eyes, I knew I wanted something gold and glittery but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to incorporate the green of the dress in to. In the end I went for both – I haven’t been to a wedding since last summer so decided not to hold back. I used mostly the Urban Decay Naked palette (original of course) and created a gold base all over the lid and used coppery brown and carbon black shades in the outer V to smoke it up. I then decided a wedding look would not be complete without glitter so added copper glitter to the outer half of my lid. I had copper detail on my dress so that really complemented it. I also add green on the bottom lash line to add a pop of green without it being overwhelming. After lashes, blush, highlight it was on to my lips. Lips were easy I went for my classic red lip, it just works. I always use MAC Lip Pencil in Brick, MAC Lipstick in Ruby Woo and then Limecrime Velvetine in Red Velvet – and that is lips completed. Ta-da look done.
I hope you liked this quick look over on a look I created, as my camera is still full of my holiday pictures my iPhone pictures have to suffice. I did want to make a video on this look but knowing me, I would’ve ended up really late and winded my best friend up really badly since I was being picked up for the long drive to the venue. I had an amazing amazing time, and I think I’m ready for another wedding so I can get dressed up again!
