Makeup Look: Steel Smokey featuring Anastasia Lavish Palette

Hi all, It’s been a while since I have done a makeup post, mostly because I haven’t had enough time on my hands to create one, but today I wanted to share this look with you as I really like how it turned out. I’ve named it ‘Steel So Smokey’ as it is still a bit smokey and the grey colour reminds me of a steel blue. It is using mostly Anastasia Beverly Hills products, but as so many of you were interested in her products I thought how best to demonstrate it if not by a makeup look?

This look is all eye makeup look, it isn’t a full face look but I think (no promises) that sometime in the near future I may create a video tutorial featuring this eye makeup as I like it so much. Without much further ado let’s get on to the look and the products I used to create it.

Products Used:

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
Anastasia Lavish Eye Shadow Palette: Antique, Black Diamond and Cream
Anastasia Covet Eye Liner Pencil
Lets Go Lashes Temptress 4
Anastasia Dipbrow: Chocolate
Anastasia Brow Powder Duo: Dark Brown
Anastasia Clear Brown Gel
Kevyn Aucoin Skin Enhancer : Sx 08
Baremineral Lash Domination
Fresh Look Contacts: Misty Grey

The first thing I did was concentrate on the brows, I always do this as I feel then I have a clean canvas to start on. I outlined the brow with Anastasia Dipbrow in Chocolate, I love this product for outlining. Next I filled in with her Brow Powder Duo in Dark Brown and set the hairs in one direction (to make it look more full) with Anastasia Clear Brow Gel. Ta-da, brows are good to go! The next thing I did was prep the eye for shadow, especially as I was using such a light colour on the lid. I applied NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk all over the eye and patted it in. I then applied the Covet Eyeliner Pencil in Noir just above the crease, causing almost a cut crease line. I then went ahead and applied a mixture Antique and Black Diamond all over it blending it it into the socket and slightly above the crease line. I also applied the mixture in to the outer V of the eye. Next taking the light shadow Cream I blended the colour above the crease line and highlighted the crease. I love this shadow as the colour is so blendable and is perfect for both highlighting and blending out colours. After that, I went back an concentrated on the lid and applied Cream all over it. To finish I deepened the crease and outer V with a mix of Antique and Black Diamond again added the mix onto the bottom lash line. I went back with Cream and highlighted the inner corners to open up the eyes a bit more.

I then added the finish touches, liner, lashes all that jazz. I wanted a more soft look for the liner so I avoided liquid eye liner and used Covet Liner in Noir on the lash line and filled in my waterline with it too. I blended the top line out with a stiff brush slightly to soften up a bit more and used Bare Mineral Lash Domination on my lashes. I popped on Let’s Go Lashes in Temptres 4 and cleaned up around the eyes using Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer in sx 08. Finally I popped on these awesome contacts from Fresh Look in Misty Grey and I was done!

That is it for the look and also today’s post. I’m not sure what kind of lips to pair this look with, maybe something subtle like a nude or maybe a coral pink to brighten things up? I think it all depends on my mood to be honest, if I need a pick me up I usually opt for a brighter lip! I hope you have all been well, I have got a few more makeup posts planned, hopefully I will deliver! I have just acquired an Ipad Air, so am using Twitter a bit more so please do come over and tweet me here. Until next times my loves, have a great day. Tanzina x
