Today I have the first post of ‘The Face Edit’ series, a series where I discuss makeup products aimed at a particular area, for this instance the face. You can have a look at The Eye Edit here. To mark the very first post I bring you two products from a range I haven’t previously tried but heard rave reviews about. As you’ve probably guessed from the title of this post the brand of choice today is Daniel Sandler Cosmetics.
Daniel Sandler is an UK based international makeup artist with over two decades of experience. With experience comes understanding and with that in mind Daniel created a makeup brand which makes a woman look her most beautiful with makeup techniques and shades that bring out her natural beauty. Today I will be looking at two products from his range, the Sculpt and Slim-Effect Contour Face Powder and Watercolour Fluid Blusher in Spicey.
I actually hadn’t heard of the Sculpt and Slim-Effect Contour Face Powder previously so I was really excited to see how it was like to use. The first thing that really stood out and impressed me was the lack of red tones in the brown that many other ‘contour’ powders have. A lot of brands *cough sleek* seem to think that contour and matte bronzer mean the same thing and I was happy to see that mix up wasn’t made here. The second thing I noticed was how soft the powder is, it’s soft and so easy to use I’ve never really seen another powder like it. I know ‘soft’ is a weird way to explain the texture but if you get the chance to swatch this, please do because you’ll know what I mean. The highlight shade is also beautiful, it’s finely milled shimmer and really helps lift the face. You don’t get annoying chunks of glitter but you do notice a healthy glow on the face. I’ve pouted (badly) in the picture above so you can see the dramatic sculpted effect this product gives to my cheekbones. I’m trying to up my contouring and sculpting game and I think this really will help aid that! It promises to sculpt and slim-effect the face and it delivers on those promises. You can pick up here for £24.50. Worth every penny.
This is the Daniel Sandler Watercolour Fluid Blusher in Spicey. I’ve heard so many rave reviews about the Watercolour Blusher range and was really excited on trying it for myself. I think I didn’t take the plunge in buying it because the idea of a liquid blusher seemed so foreign to me and I didn’t know where to swatch it. Luckily it is now widely available in places like the Beauty Mart in Harvey Nichols and Topshop. It is basically a liquid blusher, I apply a few drops to my fingertips and blend into my cheeks. It applies like silk, spreads really easily and the effect is just so pretty, like your blushing from within. It is perfect for a natural blush but very easy to layer on too for a more noticeable result. I use a synthetic brush to buff it in and I have just loved using this product on easy makeup days. I can definitely see why this has won awards and is so raved about. A definite recommendation from me. You can pick it up here for £14.50.
Overall I’ve been really impressed with the quality of Daniel Sandler Cosmetics, I’m really excited to pop into my nearest Beauty Mart and check out the DS offerings. I definitely will be stocking up on more colours from the blush range, and I am already using the contour powder on almost every makeup day. I hope you enjoyed this first edition of ‘The Face Edit’ and do let me know if you would like to see more of them. Tanzina x
