I’ve never used face oils before, it IS a step I’ve considered adding to my skin care steps considering that my skin is on the dry side of normal however I never really got around to finding one I liked the scent of. I know that sounds a little shallow however face oils do tend to have a stronger scent to them than other skincare and some just smelt too medicinal or too botanical for my liking. However I’ve had the chance to trial one out so I’m going to share my thoughts on that for you.
This is the Bodhi Desert Rose Rejuvenating Face Oil. The oil is an ultra-fine oil featuring benefits of Bulgarian Damask Rose Otto, Morrocan argan oil and rosehip seed oil (can you tell already this is going to smell nice?). It is also rich in essential vitamins, anti-oxidants and fatty acids and is designed to intensely hydrate skin, help stimulate skin cell rejuvenation and increase cell regeneration to combat ageing. Of course age prevention is an attraction to me however it is not at the top of my mind – instead it is the hydration factor that caught my attention. I notice that if I do hydrate my skin really well the night before, the next day I am guaranteed to have a really good skin day.
I’ve been applying this product every night after I’ve cleansed my face. They say you can use it night and day however I felt my skin needed it just once a day, you can easily just tailor it to your needs. If your skin is more dry, dehydrated and lacklustre then use it twice a day. Some days when I feel my skin is really feeling dry (usually on days where I’ve neglected my moisturising for a day or too, naughty!) I use a hydrating serum first, then the oil and then my beloved Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream. It’s very easy to apply, you just pump the product out and apply over you face and neck. It glides on smoothly, spreads evenly and does not feel heavy, greasy or annoying on the skin. I can easily apply moisturiser on top.
I’ve really been thoroughly testing this out to bring a well informed review for you guys. I’ve never used a face oil before so I really did not know what to expect. I was slightly worried I will have an oil overload and my usually well behaved skin will react and break out. Gosh was I wrong! The nights I’ve been using this the next day I wake up with skin I just like to stroke. You know that feeling? No? Let’s just pretend you do. It honestly has been leaving my skin more hydrated but not just that, it seems to have evened out my skin tone too maybe because the sometimes ashy dry skin is missing. I really have been enjoying this product however for me personally because my skin sometimes goes back to being very well behaved and being normal skin, I want to keep this in my stash as a treat every other night or so and especially on those days I’ve neglected my skin care routine and been left with tight, stretched dry skin. I’ll be honest some days I don’t moisturise (hashtag shock horror), even though that happens very rarely, and when I finally do I find an extra pump or two of this leaves my skin feeling brand new.
This product is perfect normal, dry, dehydrated, mature, stressed or lacklustre skin and smells utterly divine. It retails for £38 for 15ml and that 15ml really does last you a long time. I would highly recommend this product, you know I’m all for a product that gets me feeling glowy again and in that special stroking mood (that just sounds so wrong!). You can pick it up here.
Now the extra special bit. Bodhi also are helping raise money for Breast Cancer Care and are donating £10 from every bottle of these sold to the charity. £10 is a lot of money from every purchase, most big beauty brands barely stretch to £5 so I am really impressed with Bodhi for being so supportive. If you have any birthday or special occasion gifts to buy for your loved ones and they match the skin type for this oil, do grab them this as not only will they be getting a lovely gift but you will also be helping a great cause.
Thank you Bodhi for introducing this treasure into my life, and it’s so lovely to see how supportive our own British brands are to worthy causes. Have a lovely day and don’t forget to follow me on Bloglovin’! Tanzina x
