Hi my loves. I am so excited to share this post with you, I love a good haul post so I hope you enjoy this one. I’m not sure what I am most excited about, sharing this post with or FINALLY getting the chance to play with the products as I have now taken pictures of them. Ah the live of a blogger, no using products till you’ve snapped shots of them. Now on to the haul!
I adore Illamasqua I really do, I love that they are so creative with their looks, I love how they target every age group, I love how they have such unique products and most of all I love how they have such good quality product. So why the wait in trying so many of their products? Well I have tried a bit through Mystery Boxes and IMATS a few years back however it was just the prospect of not being able to get to a counter that put me off. I like to touch the products and see it in real life. So I went off to the Illamasqua flagship store on Beak Street to right that wrong and came home with a bag of goodies.
The first product I opted for was a no brainer. To be honest I didn’t even need to try it I knew it was made to be mine. This is the Reflection Palette and what is is something rather unique. The four shades are made of an innovative new water resistant eye shadow formula, it’s creamy yet sets quickly and doesn’t budge. This is the second palette that has come out with this special formula, the first was bright however this quad is very wearable. The colours are pigmented, I like to apply them with my fingers and then blend and I’ve already created a look with them that I will share soon. You can pick it up here for £34.00. I think my favourite shade is the Percipice, a shimmery cream which was just made for the inner corner of the eye.
The next items I picked up were Pure Pigments in Beguile (a light reflecting shimmer) and Ore (a rich russet goldy bronze). I’m just going to put this statement out as a fact – I WILL buy these in every single colour. I am buying Furore, a champagne pink next for my cheek highlight. I think these are my favourite products from Illamasqua, they’re so versatile you can use them in foundations to add a more glowy effect and also pack them on top off the sealing gel to create a more dramatic effect. You can find them here for £16.50. It’s like Pokemon cards, I have 7 more to collect!
Speaking of Sealing Gel, I picked one of those up as well. The sealing gel is basically a product that you can add to eyeshadow or any other powder product to make a waterproof paste. Perfect for using with their eyebrow cake. However I have been using it as almost a glitter adhesive. I put this on first and then adhere the glitter/pigment to it. I don’t know why but it works for me. It’s £7.00 here.
Okay the next product I knew I wanted to try out because I wanted a new blusher but I wasn’t sure if I would like it. I’m not really a huge fan of cream blushes, I like my satin ones best and wasn’t sure if this one would work for me. I thought I would end up going for a powder one but this definitely won me over. This is the new Illamasqua Velvet blusher in Peaked (a dusky rose pink) and its a new formula Illamasqua have bought out. It’s a very soft cream blusher with a matte texture, highly pigmented and sits on the skin with a velvet finish. It’s hard to describe in words, you need to try it for yourself but I loved it so had to take it home. It retails here for £18.00.
The final thing I picked up was a lipstick. Can you see what I was trying to do in the shop? I was trying to buy a face, yes a face. I sort of wanted a product for the three main points of my face: eyes, cheeks and lips. The lipstick I ended up going for was the much coveted Eurydice. It’s a matte finish bright fuchsia, matte finishes are my favourite finishes on lipsticks and I knew I hadn’t ever come across a matte shade like this. It’s lovely and creamy and can be found here for £16.50
That is it for my haul and yay I cannot wait to start playing with these toys, I really am excited. I really highly doubt she would be reading but I want to give a big thanks to Anastasia, the gorgeous makeup artist at Illamasqua Beak Street who was so helpful and patient with me and helped me make my decision without any pressure, I was really impressed. To be honest Illamasqua have great customer service and a really helpful website with swatch videos and reviews. Only grump I have was that the shade of Skin Base foundation, something like 11b or something can only be found in the set. I hope they bring it to the single foundations soon, my yellow tones always are hard to match!
Hope you enjoyed today’s post lovelies and look out for the looks I will be creating. Have a great day! Tanzina x
