Today I have some beautiful treasures to share with you all, and makeup looks I’ve created with them. I’ll be honest although I’ve tried and loved many Elizabeth Arden skin care products I have shied away from the makeup side of things. I think the only thing I’ve tried was a metallic grey eyeliner which I bought when I was going through my black is too harsh for me phase. I adored it and used it all up, but that’s as far as I’ve gone with dipping my toes into the ocean that is the Arden makeup range.
The first beauty I have to show you is this beautiful eyeshadow trio called ‘Violet Bloom’. The trio consists of a metallic shade (the taupe/silver), a shimmer shade (the pink) and also a matte shadow (the deep purple). Elizabeth Arden do not market these shadows as pigmented shadows, this isn’t about colour pay off so if you’re looking for highly pigmented shades you are going to be disappointed. Instead these shadows highlight, accentuate and contour the eyes causing a soft glow. The collection is all about enhancing a woman’s natural glow. I found the pink to add a shimmery hue over the eye with a hint of pink and the metallic taupe the perfect highlight for the inner corner. I adored the natural soft glowing look that this palette provided that I even opted to wear it for Eid! That truly is love. You can see the look below. Overall I am loving his trio, the purple is perfect for the crease and a soft smokey look and the embossed flowers are so pretty to look at. This most probably is my prettiest shadow palette!
These trios retail for £23.00 and come in two shades; Viridian Bloom and Violet Bloom. The packaging also is beautiful and luxurious but I’ve completely forgotten to photograph it! Silly moo. You can pick it up at any Elizabeth Arden stockists but hurry, it is limited edition!
The next product I have to share with you is also from the same collection. It is one of three, a Limited Edition Bold Eye Pencil and is made to draw attention to eye.
I have the Elizabeth Arden Bold Eye Pencil in ‘Iridescent Teal’ – and the colour is exactly what it says on the tin, or pencil rather. It is a rich pigmented teal pencil which is both creamy and lasts really well on the waterline. Since it was a rather chubby pencil I decided to play around with applying it all over the lid and even then there it blended out really well. I really am enjoying this pencil, it adds a great pop of colour to brown eyes and comes in three different shades to suit everyone. I’m tempted to pick up Platinum Glow which seems like a champagne highlighting colour which I think will work a treat on the inner corners of the eye. Need to go in and swatch that!
You can pick this up at any Elizabeth Arden stockists for £16.00 and it come in ‘Iridescent Teal’, ‘Platinum Glow’ and ‘Terra’
Below I have pictures of a makeup look I created with both products. I first prepped the eye by applying the Teal pencil all over the lid as a base. I then applied the shadows on top. The pink all over the lid, the taupe silver in the inner corners and then the purple on the crease and outer V to deepen and smoke the look up. The shadows I found adhered to the pencil really well and created a really nice subtle smokey eye look. I then injected a pop of colour buy applying the pencil in both the inner rims of the bottom lash line and the outer. The look turned out really nice and sparkly without being overstated which I tried my best to catch on camera!
The New York in Bloom Colour Collection also has some other littles treasures, such as Nail Lacquer Duos and Radiant Bronzing Powders. I have been able to get my lucky paws on the Nail Lacquer Duos so I will be showing you those soon! Have you tried any of the Elizabeth Arden make up range? Do let me know!
