Benefit Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer

Hi lovelies, I hope you all are okay. Today’s post is about a primer, a Benefit primer no less. Now I use primers on a daily basis, for my eyeshadow to stay on to and not fade through out the day. Also to ensure the shadows apply smoothly and not patchy. However when I do wear base, I don’t know why but I omit using primer, I’m not sure why as it would help the longevity but I guess I’m a bit of a silly moo like that!

I’ve actually used quite a few different primers before but I don’t really find many beneficial to me so I stop using them. One I did really like was also from Benefit, called Porefessional, which is a silicone based primer to help control shine, reduce the look of pores and make your makeup last. Unfortunately after a few uses despite how amazing it felt on my skin it didn’t really work for me as I have dry skin, meaning no shine, no enlarged pore and my skin is still young so I didn’t need to fill in fine lines. However I am definitely not dismissing it, I have it in my makeup kit for when I do freelance makeup as it works wonders on some skin types such as oily/combination and even mature skin.

Benefit have released a new product which is an addition to the Hello Flawless line. I’ve tried the Hello Flawless powder which was quite good but not the liquid foundation and definitely not the new primer so when the opportunity arose for me to try it I jumped at the chance.

This is the Benefit Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer which is essentially a magic magnet for your makeup. It gives your base something to stick to and the silicone properties within the product promises to help application become more smooth and easy. Not only that but it promises to enhance longevity so your makeup looks flawless and fresh for longer. It comes in a stick format, the product itself applies invisible and you just apply straight from the stick to your face, apply foundation straight away and blend. Now the figures: 94% said it helps foundation last longer. 97% saw an improvement in the look of skin/complexion and 97% said it enhanced foundation’s performance. Pretty impressive huh? I decided to but those figures to the test.

I decide to put the product through its paces, using the accompanying foundation – Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow. Now this isn’t a foundation review I will be doing a more in-dept one later on. My shade is Toasted Beige and it matches me really well, I was slightly worried that it won’t be a perfect match but it was. I first tested out foundation performance. 97% said they saw an improvement after using it with the primer and I wondered if I fell into the 3%. I used the foundation by itself, and it was fine and worked just how a foundation should. However with the primer I saw there was significant difference, it blended more easily and the foundation needed less persuasion when blending. The overall finish was more smoother and more flawless so that was a tick for improving skin complexion. I tested foundation longevity but refusing to take pictures after I got ready, instead I did it after I got home from my day out – 7 hours later.  I think it’s fair to say that it is another tick, as my base remained pretty much the same as it did when I applied it. You can see in the pictures below.

Overall, I really enjoyed this primer, it ticks all the boxes it promises and my dry skin doesn’t repel it either. I would definitely recommend it and am looking forward to getting another one for my makeup kit, creating long lasting makeup for clients is a must. You can pick this up at any Benefit retailer be it a stand alone store or counter.  This product retails £24.50.

I thought since I was adding so many pictures in to the post I would quickly talk you through my makeup look too. I did my eyes really quickly using random products in front of me. The berry like colour over my eye lid is a Makeup Forever HD Blush that I never in Number 11. I smoked it up with the help of MAC Brown Down and Carbon in the crease. For blush I stuck to my favourite pinky purple blush, Benefit Hervana. On the lips I used Benefit Silky Finish Lipstick in Nice Knickers with Max Factor Satin Pink on top. You  can have a better loo at the eye makeup below but I warn you its not my best work!
