Swatch & Review: Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl

Hello lovelies. Today I thought I’d rave about eyeliner pencils that I am absolutely loving. All across the bloggingsphere, every one and their dog has been raving about how amazing the newish Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl eye pencils are and I wanted to get in on the action. I make it a habit to not talk about products on here unless I adore them, and I’m more than happy to say these make the cut. I actually purchased my first one of these quite a few months ago, and only a week or two ago my friend bought me another one. So without further ado, let’s start swatching and reviewing.

The first one I purchased was this pretty nude one in the colour 005 Nude. Now I saw this on a few blogs and videos and I knew I had to get hold of it straight away. Okay fine, I admit I broke my spending ban to get hold of it but I really really needed it I promise. I’m not fair at all and my tanned skin finds white eye pencil too bright, stark and unnatural to line my waterline with. It just clashes however I have had to make do for quite a while and just suck it up. I knew that a colour like this would suit me better and make my wide eye make up look seem more natural with a nude pencil instead of a bright white one. In the beauty market, nude pencils are rare and I didn’t want to go into high end market looking for one. So when Rimmel came out with this baby I just snapped it up.

I love the consistency of these pencils, they’re so smooth and have been compared countless times to the Urban Decay 24/7 eye pencils which I also adore. They’re waterproof, which mean they actually last on the waterline and don’t fade after a while. For the past two years I’d say I’ve only been using Urban Decay 24/7 eye pencil in black and Avon Supershock Gel Eyeliner pencil in Black also and I think I started taking their amazing creamy long lasting qualities for granted. Recently in a bid to use up old eye pencils I’ve bought out my old pencil liners and the difference in longevity and colour intensity is shocking! However these pencils are amazing, and I’m so happy that a high street brand that’s easy to get hold of have bought out such good quality eye pencils. I’m a happy bunny. Even though this is a light colour, it lasts just as well. These are just £3.99 compared to UD’s pencil being £13.00!

Bright Blue 014 rimmel scandal eyes

So this is the one I was given as a little present by my friend, and it is in a gorgeous beautiful absolutely stunning electric blue called 014 Bright Blue. I have a penchant for bright electric blue near the eyes and I think this colour contrasts so beautifully against dark brown eyes. In the summer I actually picked up a MAC blue eye shadow in a similar colour, however I haven’t cracked it open yet. I can’t wait to pair the two together and I definitely will be wearing this shade out lots in the coming spring and summer. I love electric blue in the waterline and hands down this the best bright blue shade I’ve come across in a long while. I love it as you can tell, I have’t worn it out yet but I can’t wait to. I was definitely a happy girl to have gotten hold of this, and I honestly didn’t know Rimmel do this shade because if I did know I would’ve picked it up myself ages ago!

Like I said I haven’t had the chance to wear it out but I can’t see the quality being any different from the Nude one so I’m guessing it’s going to last just as well and stay on just as long. I will definitely try my best to make some time and do a quick tutorial with this colour.

Now for some more good news, Rimmel should be bringing out more shades for this range (I’m eyeing up the light blue shade already) AND they are introducing a new range called Scandal Eyes Eyeshadow Stick which is basically eye shadow pencils in what I’m guessing is in the same formula. My heart has already told me which one I can’t live without and it’s this beauty above in Witness White. I think if the texture is just as creamy and lovely as the eye pencils, then this would be amazing to use as a base for shadows. NYX Shadow Pencil in Milk has always been on my need-to-buy list however I never got round to it as it isn’t easy to get hold of, but this will be very easy to take home which is what I intend to do the second it hits UK stores (it better come to the UK Rimmel!!). From what I can tell it’s already out in the States.

I hope you liked today’s post, do let me know if you’ve picked up any of this beauties yourself. I don’t think I’ll ever be purchasing Urban Decay 24/7 in Black again, I’ll be getting the Rimmel dupe for almost £10 left. I really hope Rimmel don’t bump the price up when they realise just how much we love these pencils, that would break my heart a little bit. I hate it when companies do that, yes Inglot I am talking about you! I probably will pick up other UD pencils in different shades as they have a HUGE shade range however if Rimmel decided to bring out just a big a range, I’d never go back! One can dream right? Hope you all have a lovely day, it’s snowing all across the UK and I’m planning to stay in bed for as long as possible until it all blows over. Take care lovelies!x
