Vaseline is a brand that I have grown up with and many before me have also. My tub of Original Vaseline Lip Therapy is never too far away from and it has become a brand that I rely on. When I heard that they’re bringing out a new hand cream I was instantly interested and wanted to find out more. I went to the press preview of the hand cream and I simply expected a moisturising hand cream and nothing more. Imagine my surprise when I discovered it was also an antibacterial cream! The surprise was even greater when I realised that the cream did not contain alcohol and didn’t smell like hospitals which most alcohol based anti bacterial gels smell like.

Instead it reminded me of fruits especially banana and smelt really pleasant. After a lovely hand massage with the hand cream by the lovely Jade, my hands were left feeling super soft and moisturised. Even after a few hours, my hands still were left feeling soft and it helps to know that the hand cream has five essential moisturisers which are: Glycerin, Potassium Lactate, Sodium PCA, Urea and Collagen Amino acids, I won’t pretend to know any of them other than Glycerin which has been highly effective in keeping my dry skin happy so I guess that’s a promising sign! This is an extra bonus as I find most anti-bacterial hand sanitisers are usually drying on the hand. (Note to self: Find out about those moisturisers!)

I like the fact that it is antibacterial especially as I find myself usually using hand moisturisers whilst travelling around London. Sometimes I touch railings in tube and train stations and then feel slightly icky knowing that so many before me have touched it also and god only knows where there hands have been. The Vaseline 2-in-1 hand Cream + Anti-Bac when tested against bacteria showed 99.9% reduction within 15 seconds! I can see myself carrying this product with me now and using it whilst travelling and trying to reassure myself the icky-ness has gone away. I sometimes felt like when I moisturised my hands without washing them thoroughly first, I was just succeeding in massaging germs into my hand. I’m a little OCD like that and I think this hand cream may just be the answer to that problem.
The Vaseline 2-in-1 Hand Cream + Anti-Bac will be sold in all leading supermarkets and and chemists for 3.29. I was expecting much more and I think that it’s such a good product for the price. I’ve been using my one for over a week now and my hands are feeling considerably softer than normal. For that price, you can’t go wrong. This is definitely staying in my handbag from now on. What do you think of the concept, would you consider it?
